kevo_smfc
Very frustrating to see yet another Hamilton accies player bound for the premiership in a deal worth 2million (Stephen Hendrie). Im not saying that we a team full of 2 million pound players though we haven't earned well in transfers over the years. As Mclean is under contract beyond this season, what would be wa realistic asking price if he keeps his form up to the end of the season!? windae cleaner
He will go whatever price that a team is willing to offer. We have let players go to the Championship for peanuts in the past I think this is now going against us Hamilton and Dundee Utd held out and has worked out well for them
mad saint 2
sorry west ham not going to pay £2 million for a player with 6 months left on contract . they made offer then realized this and thats why they have not backed it up now hamilton trying to push it but bet he signs precontract and they get buttons

If you wait till the summer £250K would likely be his value really given training compensation rules?
TopCat
I think a lot of that valuation is due to the success of McArthur and McCarthy. Hamilton have a youth system which is proven to be capable of developing EPL standard players, ergo the value of their latest starlets go up. We haven't produced a player of that quality since Lambert in the 80's, so we can't charge as much. That's the only logical explanation I can come up with anyway.
