Knew his dad in my early working days - I think he played a bit himself in his younger days?. Big Celtic man but an even bigger football fan, he just lived and breathed the game. Was really into Italian football and the way they defended so I'm guessing he was a defender just like his boy. He was really into the catenaccio system adopted by Herrero at Inter and on a training course where everybody had to give a 20 minute talk on a subject of their own choosing he was still going after 30 minutes on the variations of the catenaccio system and the beauty of playing with a libero!! Not surprised his boy ended up in the beautiful game. Edited January 25, 2015 by rabuddies

Liverpool Bud
Micky Mellon's been touted on here for the St Mirren job on several occasions over the last few seasons ! Ah - that might have just been my wishful thinking! He was at Tranmere for a few seasons and was a quality player Went onto manage Fleetwoof I think? Doesn't suffer fools - is clearly the boss and recognises a quality player Has plenty of good contact in englandshire Would love him as manager

His parents stayed across the road from me in Elderslie As a boy never played for any local teams played for Glasgow teams Played all his career down in England I cannot see him up here managing anyone unless Celtic come calling

Doesn't suffer fools - is clearly the boss and recognises a quality player Has plenty of good contact in englandshire Would love him as manager I saw him playing and scoring for Tranmere against Pompey in a 1-1 draw at Prenton Park a few years back (late nineties i think), Looked like a decent player but i probably only remembered him because he came from Paisley,
El Gingero
Michael played for Pollok United youths in the same team as Derek Anderson. Very tidy player on the ball. Kept things simple.
