Wrong Planet
Did it not take Partick Thistle until about March last year before they got a home win and they stayed up despite their home form? (Admittedly I think they got a lot more draws at home than we have done this season). Close enough.... Partick's first home win in Season 2013/2014 was 22nd February when the defeated Aberdeen 3-1 at Firhill. At this point last season (16th February) Partick has attained 22 points from 7 home draws, 3 away draws, 4 away wins, and 0 home wins. dakota7
Get Gow signed. There is no such thing as a centre half it's a myth so just sign Gow.
irvine_buddie
Who was the last centre back we actually signed, Lee Mair? Like 5 years ago? It's pretty much an accepted footballing fact that a good team needs a solid spine and good teams are built from the back yet we refuse to invest in a centre back. We have a CB who not many would say is cut out for this level, a converted CB and an 18 year old CB. It’s a farce

billymehmet1
Jim Goodwin plays almost all his career at right back. Only strayed to play centre half with us

Plummer was on loan and played 3 or 4 games hardly solving the problem.
islaysaint
Over the last few games our best area of the team has been MacAusland and Goodwin, yet continually we get this assertion that all our problems will be solved if we sign a decent centre half. If you analyse our season, our biggest "offenders" in defence have been Naismith and Kelly, the same as Saturday. The only difference on Saturday was our midfield and forwards were crap as well as Naismith and Kelly. It's an old adage but if you don't retain the ball you won't win games, on Saturday our front men and midfielders could not keep the ball. I fear for our Premier League status because we are short of decent players in most areas. But IMO the priority is not a centre ha,f. ulysses
The priority should be finding someone who is able bodied at both centre half and right back. If Naismith gets suspended or injured, who are we going to play there?

If Naismith gets suspended or injured, who are we going to play there? I agree... I'm actually seeing right back as more of a priority now. Jason will go on to be a good centre half hopefully... but his positional sense defensively at full back is awful and actually getting worse! He can cover central defence, as can Tess. Right back is our achillies heel right now.

The fact he couldn't keep a decent line, judge a long ball or distribute had nothing to do with Kelly or Naismith. That and have you seen the ground Kelly and Naismith are expected to cover? Not their fault if Osbourne can't track across every so often.
TsuMirren
No, Teale is still taking a look at him with a view to signing him before Aberdeen Word is that he only needs to provide more than Wylde does. For most teams, who build and feed their wingers, that'd be fine. Sadly, we play launch it and let the whippet chase it most weeks.
