1970's St.mirren Song

Recommended Posts

Aye, I remember it...

We are super Saint Murrrnnn,

It is the seventies,

We are Fergie's Furies,

Wae' big hair and big flares.

Enjoy it while it lasts my friends,

Cos' it will go away,

In the future we'll be rubbish,

In a dinkydome that's grey.

Phil played this over the Tannoy in the 1990''s as the superb Paisley Panda did his routine.

Fabulous song.

Heard it on Radio Scotland last night.

Wonder if it was a Saints fan who requested it ............

Does anyone remember a song that was played over the PA system during the 70's called, I think, ' Go Saints'? The only line I can remember is ' people come around from miles around singing GO SAINTS'....I remember the song was shit, but that line and the shity tune have stuck in my memory.

I remember it , was it not written for the series of adverts the club ran on STV on Friday night , late 70s , early 80s and then played just before kick-off on the Saturday ?

Remember it was sung by some young lassie who's name escapes me. I actually quite liked hearing it before games( my taste in music has always been a bit questionable) brings back another memory of playing hibs at love street when jackie McNamara senior got sent off in the first half then at half time the stadium announcer suggested playing mcnamaras band(banned) which gave us all a chuckle. Does anyone else remember this or maybe I dreamt it!

I remember the McNamara one but can't remember a St Mirren song being played pre match.
