If you continually post about how dicko can't count or do his sums, why even bother arguing with him when he posts his monetary digging 'facts'

I stopped ages ago.

I prefer just to point and laugh at his glaring deficiencies in relation to both literacy and numeracy.

I'll argue and vote for what I believe in - Independence for Scotland..

The current setup of the UK favours about 40-50% of Middle England at the expense of the rest of the country and I don't think that this is going to change - I wan't independence for Scotland and to live in a country with a left of centre agenda and if that means a rise in taxation to pay for the sort of services that make the quality of life better for the majority of people then so be it.

What a bizarre position to take. For months now we've had to read about Nationalists and Socialists spending over and over again the money saved from not replacing Trident. Now I can accept that parties with different political ideologies will see some projects as wasteful whilst others won't. What I can't understand though is the left wing argument that when you see wasteful government spending, you believe that the best thing to do is increase taxes to allow the government to spend even more.

I strongly believe that I can spend my money far more efficiently and effectively than any politician of any hue, and I believe that the majority of UK citizens believe that they can too. I must be right as well since the Conservatives have indeed won the majority of seats in the UK Parliament.

Granted, the Conservatives won the majority of seats in the UK Parliament but they didn't do this by having the majority of UK citizens voting for them - that was down to the first past the post electoral system.

Another flawed analysis from you, again I ask myself the question - is this due to mischief or stupidity?

Choosing not to answer the point made though I notice. Why would you argue on one hand that the government wastes money, and then on the other argue that you'd be happy to pay more tax? There's nothing more stupid that a Nationalist Socialist.

think the snp won 50% of the Scottish vote which means they don't actually have the majority of people in this country voting for them but they get to represent everybody ,think that also is called first past the post

People who don't vote don't have the right to have their numbers included.

The SNP won over 50% of those who voted. That's the only relevant statistic.

What percentage of votes did the Tories get out of those who voted?

I'll bet it was nowhere close to 50%.

Whereabouts in this post do I argue the Government wastes money?

You quote his post, say that, and then go on to talk about stuff he never mentioned.

I know which of those two posts I would regard as bizarre.

As Slarti pointed out your reply was completely irrelevant, I chose to highlight your non sequitur regarding votes cast and seats won in the recent General Election and asked why this might be. As for your NS jibe it's tired, marks you out as a pariah (even amongst the people you claim to support) and reveals little more than you have a weak argument.

The prizes for inability to follow what was actually said & stupidity go to, erm, you............

Yeah, but since I am not an advocate of the first past the post system so what?

My point was that in you don't need a majority of the votes cast to win a majority of seats in the current Westminster setup - I'd be quite happy to see a some form of PR replace the current system.

Without politicians we have no government.

Without government we have no roads or hospitals or electricity supply or fuel or car industry or internet or regulation of any kind or international agreements or international trade or a vast array of other things which you've certainly never heard of but which are vital for our way of life.

That's not a life I'd personally fancy and I certainly wouldn't want to be dependent on people like you having to work out how to provide the right sort of economic climate for major projects like defence and our road network to work properly. lol.gif

For someone who clearly thinks everyone else is an idiot, your system would require you to place a lot of unquestioning faith in a lot of other people.

It's part of the response to the backsliding of the "Better Together" (sic) parties which started at about 7:30am on the 19th September but it also highlights the problems faced by areas of England too far away from London to share the benefits of this country's lopsided economy.

We'll take Cornwall too....................

Cornwall?

And who pays every time the tide comes in?

Back on topic, the more the merrier - as long as most of them believe in putting the wellbeing of society before the wealth of the individual.

What if they believe that the best way to improve the wellbeing of society is the creation of wealth by the individual?

Not everything can be solved by issuing premium bonds!

Really? A ROFL?

See when you were growing up, did you have friends?

I ask because if you HAD friends and cracked the same joke 27 times and rolled around the floor laughing at each one I'm pretty sure they'd have said something.

Those of us who enjoy the odd bit of human contact know that even the best joke isn't funny after you've cracked it twice.

You seem to be struggling with that concept.

I would suggest he was ensuring people knew it was meant to be funny. Without the indication I, for one, wouldn't have known I was meant to laugh..

I suppose we all can't be funny! lol.gif Ooops. I mean whistling.gif
