There's an article on the STV website stating that we had the 5th highest wage bill last season.

Aberdeen £140,699 £2,706

Hibernian £102,199 £1,965

Dundee United £91,538 £1,760

St Mirren £78,447 £1,509

Kilmarnock £74,981 £1,442

St Johnstone £67,999 £1,308

Motherwell £67,639 £1,301

Hearts £63,999 £1,231

Inverness CT £53,690 £1,033

Partick Thistle £45,498 £875

Pretty surprised at that.

Simply nonsense.

Simple maths.

These figures are presumably a mix of last issued accounts and an assumed number of first team squad.

might be a bit of mix and match, but last accounts have wages at £2.28m

current 1st team squad is 25, give or take and so with an average of £78K per player that is £1.95m leaving £330K for the entire rest of operation.

Youth, coaches, management, admin, accounts, ticket office, ground staff, commercial dept....official sausage roll eaters....just nonsense....for a total of 65 employees.....so 40 other employees are on avg on £8k PA....

NOT

You have to admit, it feeds some perceptions.

But I thought we were operating on a shoestring budget? The fakes, Killie, etc all had bigger budgets, which is why we found it difficult to compete. That's what all the 'online experts' told us.

These "stats" don't give any info at all on budgets.
