Happy enough with this appointment. Should have been brought in when Danny left, but that's history now.

This is perhaps the best time to bring in a guy like Murray. A step up in terms of the size of the club, but in a league he is familiar with. No huge pressure to either keep us up (in the top league), or win the league, so hopefully a couple of years to place his stamp.

Aye, given some of the names in circulation, I am quite happy with this appointment.

Welcome to the club, Ian. All the very best.

Magnificent appointment. Dumbarton's league stats last season: Played 36, Won 9, Drew 7, Lost 20, For 36 Against 79 Goal Difference -43, Points 34. He has a great track record of signing guys not fancied at St Mirren (Van Zanten, Mair, Murray, P. McGinn) and has sold on lots of young players he has developed like, er, um ...

I am delighted with this appointment, here's hoping that Ian Murray can bring overall success to the one and only St.Mirren Football Club, the board have got it right and hopefully they will back the man to the hilt in terms of finance for the players we badly need.

Thankfully we're not part time, we have better facilities and can attract a better calibre of player than Dumbarton... That's not opinion, that's facts.

Interesting that the Official Website still hasn't got this up there.............................

Either someone is sleeping, or there has been an almighty c**k up!

Articles on the STV and the BBC website say compensation still to be finalised. After the Ian Harte affair the club insists on everything being sorted out before publicly announcing it - that way if something falls through they can claim they didn't say it had been agreed.

BBC website says Murray has agreed a two year deal. Journos on Twitter saying 4pm for the press conference.
