The board don't invest anything no, they aren't hugely wealthy individuals, they're just local businessman.

As a club spend what comes in. Less comes in, we cut and spend less. By my reckoning we will have the 3rd biggest income in the Championship this season, ergo 3rd biggest budget

Simple stuff really!

local business men looking to sell club for 2 million ,that will prob give them 1.9 million profit on their total outlay over last 10 years,,would find it hard to believe we spent most of last seasons income on players wages, then again depending who you believe guys like Goodwin and cheesey were on plenty so you might have a point but I prefer to think we pissed more money away on tc and his band of duds which the bod actually sanctioned for which they should have been sectioned !!!,and ton who came up from league 1 have prob sold more st than us so where you getting 3rd biggest budget from when we don't even have a budget set ????,,simple

Don't know where to start with that. The club is available for less than 1.9 million. The selling consortium have invested considerable time and money into the club over the years (including one cashing in their pension).

Morton haven't sold more season tickets than us, they just started selling theirs this week.

I get the third biggest budget from the parachute payment and my virtual certainty that we will have the 3rd most season ticket holders in the league.

No I'm not. I just appreciate what they've done for our club.

What part was guesswork?

You're previous post was entirely "guesswork".

Given we have about 6 players at the moment I have no idea what they are basing that on. Are we 5 times more likely to win the league than Falkirk ?

Ah David I will let your obvious but ill-informed post slide due to you being an apparent "newbie" to our support,

What you fail to realise is that our current chairman, Mr Gilmour, is well known as an ambitious individual who is more than willing to throw his own money at the team in times of crisis. I would wager that we will be the preverbial "big spenders" of the division. Now that is assuming that only My Gilmour opens his wallet...should Mr McAausland choose to throw in some pennies then we are in for a treat, in for a treat indeed.

Yes Mr McDonald and that is not even considering the generosity of Mr Campbell. In the words of one John Walton of Waltons mountian, America may I say "woweeeee".

Nurse! nurse! Sort this guys medication out.

St Mirren FC Ltd have had to cut important two coaching posts (physio and goalkeeping coach) and two catering staff. What makes you think that the outgoing consortium are going to blow any further personal wealth on bringing in journeymen players who bleed our game dry.

Those job cuts to the non playing staff I find appalling given the amount of money that has been spunked away on a variety of short term deals, wasted transfers, signing on fees, early terminated contracts involving Imrie, Gow, Wylde, Grainger, Harkins, Bahoken, Djemba Djemba, Tommy feckin Craig to name a few.

It sickens me that some good back room staff who have served the club well have been lost to our club while the "players" drive away in their top of the range vehicles to their next pay cheque.

Too much money has been wasted in recent seasons on over paid under performing players.

Inverness have a smaller budget yet they have year on year performed better. Obviously they did get relegated, but they came back stronger with an immediate promotion. We have a tougher challenge next season that ICT did, but the mentality and the physicality of the player we attract needs to change.

I'd like us to introduce multi training sessions each day like what Hearts did this season to great effect. These players are paid well as full time professionals so they should be treated as such.

Hard work beats talent when talent does not work hard.

I admire your optimism, but directors who wish to sell their shares are hardly going to shell out to sell out. They quite rightly want a return on their share purchase and would be more inclined to save rather than spend.

I think we are probably 3rd favourites but they odds are way too stingy. Should be looking for at least double that .

I'd also have Hibs as slight favourites just now. They are getting their business done early. Carmichael and Keatings are great signings.

Given we have yet to sign almost the entire team this is akin to laying odds on a jockey who's yet to be given a horse.

Promotion? I reckon we will do well to make the top half tbh.

Hibs, ****, Falkirk and potentially QoS wven with their departures will all be stronger than us.

We've got our work cut out that's for sure.

Hard to say if Falkirk or QOS will be stronger than us when we do not know our own squad strengths. Murray talks of 8 new players so I will wait to see our own squad before speculating how stronger or weaker than the other clubs we are.
