Had to laugh at the man from the car rental/leasing organisation, on the news this morning he informed us that the paper part is no longer a legal document (unless you only have a paper licence and no photo card then it is legal ?) And most car rental companies will ask you to print off proof of you having no driving convictions, this can be done on the DVLA website and is the new paper part for a driving licence. Yeah i heard that on Beeb Scotland. Its all being done to ease access to info , to be able to keep records more up to date & To aim toward a paperless system ! So each time you want to hire a car you can print off an approval type form which is valid for 72 hours to show your license status !! They haven`t thought that one through ! The paper one is still valid otherwise. I picture folk believing you and throwing out their only means of validating. Nah. folk believing Shull?
