Shouldn't have been an admission fee.

Free always for pre season training sessions.

I still would not have been there.

Cannae be pathetic if they were only practicing and building up their fitness.

This Friday is for real.

It will be alright on the night.

It wasnt a training session, cost money to get in, thats why you wouldnt have been there of course.I also didnt abuse the team, merely stated the obvious, they were pathetic.

Whatever way you look at it, it was a friendly match against a better side. We clearly have issues defensively which no doubt the manager will have seen and, hopefully, will address. Pathetic is maybe a bit strong as in the end if players are better than you then there is little you can do. It is also about fitness, adapting to playing in a different team and formations. The game's value is to address key issues in a friendly game than when the real stuff begins on Friday. It will take time for the manager to get his own team in place and playing the way he wants them to play. I was there when we lost 7 to Raith and trust me that hurt me more than a friendly game to guage fitness, formations etc.

If pre season friendlies were a true reflection then after 10 goals against Whiby Bay , Calum Ball, Marwood, et al we would have finished 3rd last year. Friday is what counts, its only just August and we already have a home win, So it was a bad day against a team that will no doubt challenge play off in League that no Scottish team bar Tic could survive in.

Well done for taking fixture , we learn a hell of a lot more than playing some level 11 English pub team

Cue the happy clappers who slept through relegation. We are at present a mid table team however hopefully Murray picks a few new players who can have us playing well come October ? I believe fully this is what's going to happen. Next few weeks are going to be a huge wake up call to the happy crew who see Hamilton, Patrick, county, Inverness and st.johnstone all play their footy at a higher level yet fail to accept our fall has been quite substantial . Look at the quality of player three years ago and see the team now. No contest.

Ive been happy to let Ian Murray have a chance but in the three times I have seen Saints recently I am not in the least impressed by the players signed ( perhaps Agnew excepted)We appear to specialise in tiny , easily brushed off the ball lightweights, particularly McMullan, who is never a footballer. In addition, our goalie is poor.

Sheffield, admittedly have a bigger budget and money etc etc, but we looked like an amateur team in comparison. If Ian Murray thinks its ok for a Scottish team, and my team Saints, in particular, to be humiliated by English opposition, then I`m afraid it wont do.

I drove 5 hrs each way to Sheffield and stayed for two nights with a frogette, but I will not be walking the few hundred yards from my home (pond) to watch another humiliation on Friday evening.

Having serious concerns already about the new manager, hope they are dispelled soon.

McMullan is a member of the best team in Scotland. To state he is not a footballer yet Celtic have him on their books does not make sense. Ffs give him time to settle in before claiming he is not a footballer.

The sad fact is that we were relegated simply because we were not good enough. In an ideal world we would want to go straight back up but we have neither the resources or quality that others have - at this point in time. Getting us back up is a medium to long term plan and unless we fill our ground every home game or sell the club to someone with spare cash we just have to get on with it. We were never going to get better quality all over the park with our wage structure and why we need to rely on our young talent coming through. The damagewas done by the last 2 managers and expecting Murray to produce miracles with less money is a pipe dream. You never know, if we get the other 4 players in then who knows?

But the chairman and manager have targeted promotion this season, why continue denying this or talking it down.

In Murray/Gilmour We Trust!

I would expect our manager to target promotion but targeting and achieving it are two different things. Not talking our club down but just being realistic based on our current squad limitations.
