Graham Carey

If you'd read the whole of my post you'd have seen I answered that question - for the long ball game to be successful you need to play the ball early and have some pace up front. The purpose is to be challenging for possession in and around the opposition penalty box - in 1999/00 we had height, strength and pace up front with our combination of Basher, Yards & Junior.

I know nothing of the tactics used by that team last season but I'll stand by my opinion that used properly the long ball game is more effective and more fun to watch than most of the seventh rate Barca wannabees we see coached by the Largs alumni.

Totally agree

Behind teams playing what kind of football?

No idea.

I have no idea what type of football that the rangers played either to be honest.

Most goals come from a regain of possession in the last third. Get the ball forward as often as possible and as quickly as possible, get players forward to win the ball.

Its not about who has possession, its about where the ball is!

Here endeth my discussion on this topic on this thread! :P

Back on track, I am actually not sure I'd take Carey back again. Agnew is a left sided free kick specialist.

I'd love to see Graham Carey back at the club.

He's a player that excites, a player that has that something special.

Bring him back, get him fit and play him every week and he will be a star.

He would be a superstar in the Championship, tell him to sign for year and shine in the championship and he could get himself a big move if he wanted. It's a win win situation.

Bring Carey home!!

I always liked carey, but for some reason he always seemed to fall out of favour with managers, both DL and Jim McIntyre at county didn't seem to rate him.

Not sure we will sign him though, given Murray has said that's the midfield complete, unless he sees him as a left back.

Has he lost his chubbiness?

Serious question.

He never struck me as ever moving towards the shape of a professional fitba player.

He probably annoyed DL with something silly once, before being benched and losing any motivation. After all, DL did tear John Robertson a new one for getting injured in a warm up.

Has he ever had a view of signing him.

FAO any Plymouth fans checking out this thread; it depends whether you get the fat, waster version of Carey or the slim, interested version.

Capable of some astounding long range goals; but not that often.

Best employed left of mid. Tends to get drawn out of position too often at left back and isn't the strongest tackler. Puts in decent crosses.

A decent player.

And even if you get the fit interested Carey then enjoy it whilst it last as he'll get disinterested quickly playing behind Wylde, probably lunging into challenges as the opposition right winger and right back double team him as Wylde saunters back casually.
