Bye bye , to my old grans favourite !

Aye, my old dad was a big fan - Val, Jim Reeves, James Last and Old Blue Eyes (his Capitol albums) were always played on a Saturday morning when dad was in charge of me and my little sis. It must have sunk in 'cos I still like Sinatra's work with Nelson Riddle despite the fact I'm just an old hippie when it comes to music?

My Irish dad was a big fan.

And although both my parents passed away 11 years ago I had to get duplicates of their death certificates today.

And when I went back to the car from visiting the registrar and put on the radio, there was the news about Val Doonican.

That made me smile.

It was Dean Martin I remember on Capital records being played Billy in our house now I have a few recordings myself . Memories as a child with the family, very nice.
