Stevie Mallan

Embarrassing that the sun would even consider publishing something so fabricated.

1. He's still in contract

2. They can't afford him

3. He has a better future than the fakes

However this is good advertising for us, this will possibly alert clubs with money to get get interested.

It probably shouldn't be a surprise that clubs have spotted how relatively cheaply we let McLean and McGinn go for, and maybe decide to test the water.

Difference was that both were out of contract and we had to accept the money for Kenny. Mallan is still under contract so we decide his value and when and if we sell.

The more Clubs interested the better.

Maybe a Club from down South will come up with a couple of million pounds to secure him.

I nearly startit a new Thread.

The more threads started the better. We need a few more threads to spark more interest, plus it winds up dunderhied.

Good to see Dundee getting into the spirit of April Fool's Day with that ridiculous offer.

I am reminded of Dundee's attempts to sign Bob Harris from Queen of the South for a similarly tiny fee a few years ago, prompting the then Queens boss to remark: "They're not getting him for two bob and a doughnut."

Mind you, this was before Krispy Kreme had started peddling their over-priced nonsense in this country...

Good foresight shown by the BoD getting the player signed up on a long contract. Someone saw his potential and deserves credit. We now know that a development fee is only forthcoming if the player cooperates ie doesn't kid on he is signing for an MLS club so realisically Stevie Mallan should be offered a 2 year contract extension now and if he doesn't sign it get geared up to sell him at the best price as soon as possible. £300,000 plus a 30% sell on clause would be decent business.

All of which was true for Mcginn and McLean at one point in time.

We decided when to sell them both, and still bungled the deals.

I believe we rejected offers for both players during their contracts.

Fleetwood certainly made a derisory offer for McLean, and I seem to remember a similarly low offer early on for McGinn down in England somewhere.

We got the development fee for both, and maybe that's all we will get for Mallan too. Such is life, we can't force other teams to pay the asking price for our contracted players.

Would be lucky if we got that for McLean and McGinn combined and they were established top league players.

Can't see him signing a new deal anytime soon if we are still a Championship team (which chances are we probably still will be by the time his contract expires).

The ball is in our court though, just now we'd be daft to take anything less than what we'd get for his development fee, which is probably why we should be worried unsure.png .

Very sad to see that any half decent player, of which Mallan isn't one btw, at Saints would be hawked around for as much money as possible. Mammon certainly is king at Greenhill Rd these days, whether its overcharging at the gate or leasing out the ground to other teams. No wonder the fan base is dwindling faster than snow off a dyke.

If things are that bad, part-time football is the answer. Could hardly reduce the "quality" of the football on show these days.

If only fans would concentrate more on protesting at the gate prices than speculating on how much Saints could get for this player or that.

If we should lose tomorrow and results go for Dumbarton and Livi - which is not unlikely - any residual value of Saints players will further diminish ( if that is possible)
