Bigger teams than us have tried to temp him into full time football, and they would have been offering more cash than we could. Also worth remembering that Andy Barrowman scored a shed load in the lower leagues but could never reproduce it in Division 1 or the SPL, so even if we could get him, there would still be an element of risk.

Was speaking to a Peterhead fan at work today he says they pay the boy 650 a week plus his plumbing job wage he would be nuts to go full time .

He obviously doesn't think he can play much higher than championship or lower premier in Scotland. If he was to get a move to England that would far out way anything he would earn as Plummer. Seems he's got no ambition as a footballer

Obviously he has a career as a professional footballer and most of us would love to have done the same. I wonder though in later life he might regret not having taken up the opportunity to play at a higher level. Most guys would jump at the opportunity.

I dont get your logic. Perhaps the guy is preparing himself for the 30 years or so of the rest of his working life after he leaves football .

He`s from up North , hes found a way of life that pays him well, is preparing him for the future & he obviously enjoys........whats not to like ? huh.png

Or maybe, just maybe he doesn't see entertaining the likes of you to be the highlight of his life.

He clearly loves his life.

Who the f**k are you or anyone else to call him unambitious?

There's no denying that in isolation and just from a footballing perspective he has been unambitious. This, maybe one day you'll notice, is a football forum where we debate those involved and how their actions, thoughts etc impact upon the game. Enjoy your pedestal though, redundant as it is.

All that said, there's no guarantee that he would make the step up. Maybe he knows that, maybe he'd have shown more ambition had his performances drawn real interest from English Championship clubs. Heck, you're getting all high and mighty when the lad himself may have settled, may have decided on easy. Fair play to him, but hardly worth your obvious attempt to look like Mr Righteous.

It might be a sign of lack of ambition but there are a stack of other possible reasons for not wanting to move. Family for instance. Later in life he might well wonder 'What if.....?' Like aged spinsters who never indulged. They probably die wondering.

Shut the f**k up

If he was ambitious as a footballer you nob he would take up full time football and try get as far as he can maybe far out earning what he could get as a plumber.

Perhaps he prefers plumbing to playing football whatever floats his boat

Didn't stop Tom Finnie

what didn't stop Tom finnie?

That fact he did an apprenticeship then focused on football plus there's a lot more money in football than there was back then.

McAllister is 28 pretty sure he's a fully qualified Plummer that he could go back to doing at any point when he retires it's the guys choice didn't say it wasn't
