Stuart Dickson
Dear oh dear. Most of us are well aware that the SNP aren't very good with figures. Their ridiculous predictions over projected oil figures and Scotlands supposed wealth from just 12 months ago showed that quite clearly. Fortunately for the nations sake 55% of Scots who voted in the referendum simply didn't believe the SNP's bold predictions and as a result we've been protected from the consequences of the SNP's mistakes by an excellent Conservative Government in Westminster. It's Westminster we'll turn to yet again, asking the English taxpayer to make up a £45m hole in the Scottish Government budget after the SNP's poor grasp of figures and their inability to make a coherent presentation left the European Commission with no choice but to pull £45m of funding citing accounting irregularities and a lack of proof that the Scottish Government would spend the grant properly. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/politics/snp-accounting-blunder-loses-45million-6297557#rlabs=1%20category It really is time we gave these shysters the boot. Stuart Dickson
Seeing how you've mastered finding newspaper quotes, how about finding the imaginary one you claimed to have read. Or how about the near £10bn we're about to spend/waste upgrading a dilapidated building called the Palace of Westminster. What, you never read how that was all the SNP's fault? Third most popular tourist attraction in the UK. Only a stupid Scottish Nationalist would think we should run it down. The indefensible fact remains though that the European Commission had less faith in the ability of the Scottish Government than it does in the Greek Government. They gave the Natsis 7 full months to sort the highlighted accounting irregularities and still the Natsi's couldn't get their books in order. That's as damning as it gets. Remember too that the Natsi's were busy outlining their plans to "combat child poverty" just 4 months ago - during a period when they would have known that this £45m grant from the EU to help alleviate poverty was in doubt. Oooh.... not the best choice for dissing Herr Dixon... Holyrood - a new build at £414 million - already requires £1m pa for maintenance. People who live in - ahem - glass houses etc... Stuart Dickson
Thankfully the Tories rule Scotland. Absolutely Shull. The majority of Scots voted to remain in the Union and thankfully that means we're all benefiting from the superb management of the economy by the Conservative Government. Record numbers of people in employment; continued record low rates of interested payable on debt that the majority of Brits have amassed in debt as the Labour Government encouraged us all to spend with no concern for the future because they had ended "boom and bust" just before the nation went bust; continued low rates of inflation ensuring the UK economy continues to grow steadily leading most of the world economies; and a successful austerity programme that continues to deliver results in terms of continued deficit reduction. Thank f**k for the 55% - can you imagine how f**ked with be with these Natsi twats in charge. They can't even control their pocket money. Stuart Dickson
Making stories up seems to be tory trait's http://www.theguardian.com/society/2015/aug/18/dwp-admits-making-up-positive-quotes-from-benefits-claimants-for-leaflet The DWP didn't claim the people featured were real. The purpose of the ad was to illustrate, in the simplest possible terms, the reason why some people get their benefits sanctioned and how to avoid it. It's a shame they've had to withdraw it because it really is a simple and clear message - something the Scottish Government could benefit from once in a while. Perhaps they could start with this story. Picture the scene, a family stood outside what used to be their local foodbank - now closed because the Scottish Government can't do their accounts properly. The family, looking malnourished, are quoted saying "The SNP couldn't get it's accounts in order despite the EU showing them their errors and giving them 7 months to fix it, but at least now the local NHS can buy one less bariatric bed and Scotlands obesity statistics can look better." oaksoft
Haha, if it's an article posted by Stuart Dickson why would I waste my time reading it? I'll summarise. The headline screams that we have lost £45m. The reality is that some publicly funded bodies have failed to do their jobs by complying with legislation - presumably each of which is being run by a highly paid manager. This has caused a delay in the £45m from the EU. Because they've not sorted out this mess in 7 months, the Scottish government are now having to step in to get it fixed. After that the money will then be released. The heads of these organisations should probably be looking at losing their 6 figure salaries. For the life of me I can't understand why the highly paid heads of these public bodies are not being named and shamed by the Tories and the newspapers as incompetent.
