Don't laugh, but I thought that was going to be Alan Gow's role - don't see him getting many opportunities upfront now Shankzo's arrived. Why oh why have we not been able to find such an individual for the last 4 or 5 seasons?????????? I hope he can stay injury free, lead the defence properly and take some much needed weight off IM's shoulders. The best line ups have a good goalie, a strong CB and someone up front who knows where the net is.................... I believe we are beginning to mould that shape. That being said I am pleased he has eventually come to his senses and sees what an excellent opportunity he has by signing. My congratulations to all that undoubtedly put a lot of hard work into getting Andy Webster notably Ian Murray. I hope it works out for him, the club and most importantly the fans of this proud club that being St.Mirren F.C. Ditto. My concern was that he would do what others have done and take us for mugs. That was around two weeks we had the offer on the table and the longer it dragged on then the less likely I felt Webster would be coming. Happy to be proved horribly wrong. Probably a case of Andy having to think very carefully as this is potentially his last big move and needed to get it right. He will bring much needed leadership and experience and I am certain Baird and Kelly will revel in playing alongside him. Part of my is now thinking that Murray may go with a back three with two wing backs. Time will tell. Welcome to the greatest fitba team in the world, Andy.
