Alan Gow - The Forgotten Man

Recommended Posts

There's a short clip on YouTube where thommo is interviewed. He is asked some questions about team mates. When asked who is the most skilful player he answered "Gow"! So somebody at the club rates him. He might be terrific in training and anonymous in games. it does happen to some players. Is Alex Rae the man to get the best from him or is it too late? If he was going to be punted in the transfer window its unlikely he would have been included in yesterday's squad. Perhaps he has one last chance

Gow maybe out injured, maybe a fraud etc, u ask any player or member of coaching staff they will tell u Gow is a fantastic player...maybe he is psychology injured, can't perform on matchdays etc!

Gow was playing superbly in the game against Motherwell, (his last start?), and wasn't shirking any tackles. He took a fair amount of abuse that day due to not being protected by the officials before he was stretchered off. that's the Gow we all would like to see. The strange thing is that, if he applied himself like this regularly, he would be proclaimed as a star on this and any Saints' forum. Maybe Rae can get this through to the guy and we can spend our time singing new songs about him.

I wouldn't say superbly, maybe by his standards. He had a good game that day but 1 or 2 good games on 12 months isn't a good ratio, hopefully Rae can get him playing good stuff and proves me and many others wrong.

Sorry fellow buddie but I can't do a link from my iPad. I just keyed St Mirren into the YouTube search engine and it was about the fifth or sixth on the list with ladbrokes inside info in the title along with St Mirren and Thommo

This

It was probably done at the start of the season before the protracted injury. .

He started against annan away in the cup and his performance was shocking despite scoring. Worst player on the park imo

As much as he's been a disaster for us until now, if he's nearly now, it would be daft for Rae to move him on without having a proper look at him first. He'll want to asses every player himself and so he should.

I bet Goodwin wont let Rae "asses" him while he can still draw breath! Thomas Reilly may well have been another story.
