Plus points - 3.

Minus points - after watching the under 14 video against Hibs - would recommend that the first team should also watch this in terms of skilful, fluid, attacking midfield play - they might learn something - like running off the ball - winning possession - swift linking up play - decisive, penetrating passes - all of which qualities were conspicuous by their absence this afternoon and for most of this and last season.

However, well done the players for their effort.

I THINK that I am getting the hang of this.

In your social circle photos of people like this are to be laughed at right?

I just want to be sure because as I have repeatedly said, I dont socialise with the sort of filth would would find this sort of thing funny.

Good result thumbup2.gif and a game that for once today I actually got excited enough to start abusing a ref that was worst than the idiot we had last week. I don't really miss the SPL or whatever it is called now but the ability of refs and lineman at this level is scary.

Baird was excellent (my MOTM) with Kelly playing very well too.

Thought Mallan was miles better today. Excellent free kick.:clapping

Apart from one dodgy kick out Langfield had a great game.

Crawford Allan was absolutely woeful. What a useless c**t of a man.

Thought it was a fairly even game with both teams dominating certain periods of the game.

Onwards and upwards!:thumbs2

Yep, delighted to be wrong on that one today

First half we looked good from Mallan free kicks. Second half we didn't have many Mallan free kicks. Happy with a second home league win in a row but the football served up currently leaves a lot to be desired. I think our record for passes to our own team in the 2nd half was 8 (with a few failed QOTS interceptions), also notching up a 6 pass move, 2 5 pass moves and few 4s, plus 1 shot on target from open play and a few near misses as well.

Toffee refereed many an SPL encounter with us - usually with the other side getting a penalty at some point!

First 15 minutes aside, I thought we played some OK stuff. Never really looked in real trouble, avoided anything that gives us heart-attacks. Solid enough displays from many in the stripes.

Given that Rae's remit surely must have been to arrest the decline and stop the rot - fair do's. Today was another step forwards, certainly not backwards.

The one thing that really pissed me off was towards the end of the second half - on at least three different ocassions we robbed a Queens player of the ball in our own half, the referee didn't blow for a foul, and we broke forward with at least three men. Then we tried to run it into the corners! Fair enough in the final seconds, but we could, and should have been right down their goalie's throat and going 2-0 up on those breakaways. We aren't nearly assured enough to think the job is done at 1-0 up. Glad we never lived to regret it. The time very late on, when Thommo ran it into the corners before winning a St Mirren corner was superb and what was needed at that juncture. Before that, we should have put them to the sword.

The work rate of every player was excellent today, thought young Baird was outstanding and Kelly was too. It might not be pretty but I can handle watching my team graft like that every to week to get 3 points. Mallon was first class and he is benefiting from playing beside Quinn, it was great to hear Quinn shouting and organising the midfield today. I am happy with all the signings my only doubt is Cooper? Does he offer us more than Lewis Morgan?

Well done Alex Rae

Not this time... Hence my inclusion of appropriate smilies and good natured banter with a fellow Buddie after our second successive home win today against QoS, which coincidentally, this thread is primarily about.

;)

Indeed.

A week's a long time. lol.gif
