dave.j
Can anyone suggest a good joiner? We have 2 doors needing the bottom of them sanded. One urgently! Thanks in advance.
bluto
You don't need to take them off to do the work... if that's why you need a joiner. Get sheets of sandpaper, slip them under where the door/s is/are sticking, then waggle them back and furrit over the sandpaper till it eases. zebrakid
As above sandpaper should be enough to sort the problem, also check that screws on hinges are tight, it dosen't take much for the door to drop if they become loose
dave.j
Sorry, I should have said, it's more than a sandpaper job. We moved into our new house and have had new underlay and new carpets installed. So the carpet is sitting A LOT higher.
shull
It's a job for Joiner Mendes.
bluto
Of course it is. Just put down a load of sandpaper and it will be fine. In the medium have a beer and relax. Think that covered all the puns I hate conceding.... But that's so f**kin clever!! You're pun- Victorias, cockles. Wish I'd thought of that. An afterthought to my initial post.... Put the rough side UP!
whydowebother
Some good advice already, however I think it's 'plane' to see that perhaps a handyman is required as opposed to a joiner. Now, there are different types of 'plane' so I'd suggest you ignore the ones Shull refers too on match days You could also of chosen laminated flooring thus removing the need for said joiner. The best option I think could be rising hinges which could remedy the situation, otherwise I'd probably just keep it simple, put the house up for sale. Guest TPAFKATS
Or get a sandpaper carpet. What a great idea! Think of the money you'd save on pedicures
Drew
Try it yourself. Taking a door off, planing a bit off the bottom, and re-hanging it is a piece of piss.

Door fixed, curtain poll fitted and mirror hung, all in time for me getting home from work! The man's a legend! I have absolutely no idea why I didn't ask him! Probably the embarrassment. Hi, my name's Dave. I own a tool kit. I have no idea why.
