My Grandfather used to talk of the days when you could get on a bus to work and find yourself sitting next to Danny McGrain or Andy Lynch on their way to training at Barrowfield. He mourned the loss of that element to the game. Players from their community mixing with their community before representing their community on a Saturday. These days even shit football clubs struggling to make a profit issue club cars to players. It's ridiculous

The problem I have with this is that NOBODY 'earns', say £10,000 a week for staying fit and kicking a ball about. They are GIVEN that money because they are fortunate to be good at a commercially driven sport.
