div Posted January 19, 2016 Report Posted January 19, 2016 I really should know better in this section of the board in particular but I'll post this anyway. I got a call a few mins ago from someone in the media asking me if I had heard anything about the proposed sale of the club. I said no. They told me there was very good information suggesting that English buyer(s) with "strong Scottish connections" had agreed a deal to buy the majority shareholding. I'm taking this all with a large pinch of salt as I've never had any information from this source before but I'll leave this here anyway in case anyone else has heard similar ? Quote
Edinbuddie Posted January 19, 2016 Report Posted January 19, 2016 Where's that tin hat? INCOMING...!!!!! Quote

Sergie's no1 fan Posted January 19, 2016 Report Posted January 19, 2016 English buyers with strong Scottish connections. Billy Davies or Steve Clark involved? Quote
Drew Posted January 19, 2016 Report Posted January 19, 2016 (edited) Ach well, it was a quiet news day, so, if nothing else, we'll get a bit of sport out of this.... Edited January 19, 2016 by Drew Quote
pod Posted January 19, 2016 Report Posted January 19, 2016 (edited) English buyers with strong Scottish connections. Billy Davies or Steve Clark involved? They're not English. Edited January 19, 2016 by pod Quote
Sergie's no1 fan Posted January 19, 2016 Report Posted January 19, 2016 They're not English. Yeah maybe the buyers are connected to them , in a consortium type of way? I know I'm clutching at straws here! Would be nice to get this over once and for all but only if the buyers have the clubs best interests at heart. Quote
pozbaird Posted January 19, 2016 Report Posted January 19, 2016 Russian buyers with strong tennis connections IMHO. Quote
pozbaird Posted January 19, 2016 Report Posted January 19, 2016 English with Scottish connections? Rod Stewart and Matt Elliot. Quote
billyg Posted January 19, 2016 Report Posted January 19, 2016 I've been hearing similar stories for the last fortnight , and I would consider the sources to have the best interests of the club at heart. Here's hoping we get the desirable outcome this time ! Quote
Lord Pityme Posted January 19, 2016 Report Posted January 19, 2016 It does seem the consortium are intent on selling the club to anyone but Smisa! You have to laugh at all the stuff they put out about wanting to sell to people who have the club's best interests at heart. Quote

I`d take it with a pinch if salt also. I believe that we actually had a guy last January telling about a `deal done` he was harmless enough and generally a good guy , but his info wasn`t upto much as it turns out That said, any whispers that can distract the `usual suspects` from berating all things St Mirren is welcome. Here`s hoping Quote
dakota7 Posted January 19, 2016 Report Posted January 19, 2016 Will believe something when it's officially announced. Too many false dawns to get our hopes up. Quote

You have to laugh at all the stuff they put out about wanting to sell to people who have the club's best interests at heart. I have no gripe with the consortium wanting the best deal possible for themselves that's their prerogative let's just hope this is the one and that they finally get the hell out of Dodge. Quote

windae cleaner Posted January 19, 2016 Report Posted January 19, 2016 This kind of news came out last Jan transfer window as well Does that mean the club can only be sold in a window also I rather hear we have new players coming in than new owners Quote
Lord Pityme Posted January 19, 2016 Report Posted January 19, 2016 Funny how these rumours always start with "a journalist called me to ask my thoughts".... You Would think the journalist would be better advised calling the club? Quote
