santaponsasaint
Do we know how much they are making from the deal ? i.e. is it a nett expense or a nett profit for JD once its balanced out ? eta: i know that may be difficult to work out given that many of the Saints fans who visit JD also buy othe items when in store , thus swelling JDs coffers. Sorry bud fans council are not privvy to that info, that's internal thing for the board, as I said jd have a year left and are keen to renew, but I like many other think they have a lot of faults that the new owners when they come in should address,
TopCat
I purchase a top most seasons but don't understand what the big rush is its not even the school holidays yet and would imagine the new strips will be out well before the school holidays. Probably down to end of season nothing much to debate on the forum. Never ceases to amaze me the state some grown men get themselves into at a football strip every year
pozbaird
Never ceases to amaze me the state some grown men get themselves into at a football strip every year FFS. Alan Gow is away, let it go. Oh sorry, you said AT a football strip, not IN it. My mistook. Edited June 4, 2016 by pozbaird

I'd imagine that strip deals aren't really about making money for manufacturers except maybe with huge clubs with enormous sales. It's probably more like a sponsorship deal with the main aim to get their logos and name on TV and in the papers.I don't think a club like St Mirren sell enough strips for it to be a direct money maker for the supplier but they benefit from the advertising. It would be interesting to know how many St Mirren tops are sold each season. Edited June 4, 2016 by Thorizaar
pozbaird
Close season. If we don't bleat about the new strips, what does that leave to moan about? Apart from the club sale, lack of quality signings, season tickets being seat specific, and the state of this forum... Gie's a signing. Gie's a strip. pozbaird
Did you intentionally miss out something ;) Nah... The signature text young man, the signature text... Looking forward to the glorious day I can change it for something else. Until that day, sometime in the future, it remains.
FTOF
There's an article on the official site about players strip sponsorship. I thought it quite strange to be touting for business for sponsoring the new strips before the strips have actually been released. The picture above has an orange strip in it. Don't think much of it at all, if it's one of our new strips. Edited June 6, 2016 by FTOF

pozbaird
I've seen them. There brill. I help design them lol. Bet you the responses will be.... Brill. Would have been brill if.... The collar had been a V neck. The collar had been round. The collar had been white. The collar had been black. The stripes had been thicker. The stripes had been thinner. The socks had been all-white. The socks had a black stripe round them. The socks had two black stripes round them. The socks had three black stripes round them. The shorts had been all-white. The shorts had been...... It's brill, but the sponsor logo totally ruins it. It's meh. It's shite. It's a fitba' strip, who really cares? It's a fitba' strip, only players and kids should ever be seen in them. Bring back Adidas. It's absolute fcuking bollocks and it's all santaponsa saint's fault. Here to help! Sonny
Maybe we should just provide white t-shirts and black felt pens to players and fans alike then everyone can design and wear the strip of their choice? Seems a good idea to me.

Sonny
What kind of collar would the t shirt have though? Draw it to suit - V or lapels or roundneck - just draw them on. Or we can increase the price a wee bit and include a pair of Ikea scissors to cut to shape to make it more realistic
