St Mirren V Morton 16/4/2016 Fan Solidarity Day

Must admit that was a glorious finish but from a Morton perspective it was once again toothlessness in midfield and nobody committing to a tackle at the back. Our goal conceded against Livingston last week was similar in that respect, albeit it finished in a tap-in.

The midfield is dropping right on top of the defence when Morton have the ball. So far it's forced them long and out of play.

But we actually look better pressing them. A bit more possession would settle us down a bit more

HT 1-0

Been a pretty decent game actually, good pace to it and a few half chances to either side.

What separates the teams is a real bit of quality. A lovely flick by Mallan to Quinn, a perfectly weighted pass by Rocco, and a stunning 25 yard finish by Shankland. Superb goal.

Morton have huffed and puffed and they've looked dangerous on occasion, but we have defended pretty well.
