pandabreath93
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35979886 Man I hate this. Everybody singing their praises like it's the second coming. Soon we'll be challenging The Premier league with a bumper new tv deal! We should of got rid of them when we had the chance. What to do when they go bust again? Plus they beat Dumbarton not Dunfermline. And why are the BBC giving them any attention? Aren't the BBC banned from Ibrox? They get the licence fees regardless if they cover R*****s or not. Rant over.

Stuart Dickson
"I think the warning at the time was fair". f**k off Doncaster. The last club in Scotland to go into administration or liquidation was Rangers. Not one other club has done so since. Indeed quite the opposite - many of our clubs are now completely debt free and in far better financial shape than at any other time since Roger Mitchell and his gang of bandits tore apart our game with the inception of the SPL. Doncaster is Teflon coated. How the f**k he's managed to hold onto his job for so long has to be the biggest mystery since Lord Lucan disappeared Edited April 7, 2016 by Stuart Dickson

Indeed quite the opposite - many of our clubs are now completely debt free and in far better financial shape than at any other time since Roger Mitchell and his gang of bandits tore apart our game with the inception of the SPL. Further to that, Rangers announced they were in administration in February 2012. One month later Killie won the League Cup for the first time. A year later Saints did likewise. The year after that the Fakes won their first trophy, followed by Caley Thistle last year then County this year. Since Rangers went down the tubes five Scottish senior clubs have won a major trophy for the first time as opposed to when they were riding roughshod over everyone and pocketing every trophy going with very little look-in for anyone else save their ugly twin. Yet another counter argument against the pish being spouted.
DougJamie
They seem to forget a certain Gretna, that did what Sevco did, without pleading for money every month, getting criminals involved, having 48000 bigots to call on, getting to a major final, and not having several internationals . And did it 3 seasons not 4. Hopefully Sevco will go the same way and we can have Gretna 2008 and The Rangers 2012 in the same league

Doncaster is Teflon coated. How the f**k he's managed to hold onto his job for so long has to be the biggest mystery since Lord Lucan disappeared Hearts and Dunfermline both went into admin after the original Rangers went bust, however you'd need to be a complete moron to associate that with the demise of Rangers. Ask a Scottish football fan in 2012 who'd be the next club to go into administration and Hearts would have been top of the list, with Dunfermline not far behind. It's right to say Rangers' promotion will lead to increased revenues but, as so often with Doncaster, it's the way he says it that leaves a bad taste in the mouth. You get the impression for the last four years he's been treading water until Old Firm games are back, rather than going out there and telling sponsors how great things are with the two of them apart. There have been so many great stories in the last four years yet all we get is nonsense about why Scottish football needs it's top clubs in the top league. If he was in charge of the Premiership you'd bet he'd be praying for the day Chelsea and Man Utd are fighting for the title rather than revelling in the great Leicester story. And, minor point he may like to consider - there won't necessarily be four Old Firm league games next season.

If the Leicester City 'story' hadn't materialised, the thing is, it would still have been a genuine title fight between 1: Chelsea, 2: Man City, 3: Man Utd, 4: Arsenal, 5: Liverpool, with 6: Tottenham Hotspur being realistic challengers. Seeing as how the Leicester City 'story' HAS happened - that's 7 clubs realistically eyeing the title throughout this season. Up here, Doncaster is creaming his pants over the re-instatement of a bigotry-fuelled, two-club cartel looking to once more tighten their stranglehold on Scottish football. I love St Mirren. Beyond that emotional tie to the senior football team from my place of birth - nothing, absolutely fcuk-all attracts me to Scottish senior football. It is shite, the people running it are cnuts, and the media and the two biggest clubs (including supporters), can go fcuk themselves. Rant over. DougJamie
Pozbaird I totally agree with your sentiments. The Rangers, Sevco whoever they are , represent not just whats wrong with our football culture, but whats also wrong with West of Scotland culture due 100% to them and their Septic challengers. I have not missed watching the hatred, bigotry, racism and poison, these two serve up. Personally I wish we had land faults under both grounds. They are car crash tv, no doubt the semi, will have 10 bookings and 3 sending offs . Two teams who don't know each other but are expected to "kill" each other. Makes me happy that we have Morton. Sure I want to stuff them, might even laugh my head off if they miss a pen or get a man sent off but I wont question their religion or quote some date some 400 years ago that apparently makes a point. Only plus is, that next season we don't have either of them. I was wrong on here once ( well probably at least 100 times) when I said they should be supported in Europe, to help coefficient . FK that !!!

irvine_buddie
Depends on who they bring in in the summer but I'd be very surprised if Rangers made the top 6 next season never mind challenging for promotion. They really aren't that good a team, just good enough to stave off a pretty poor hibs challenge this season. Wouldn't be surprised if we met them in the playoff final next season. Played 4, lost 4 isn't it? There can't be many other clubs with a worse record against the new club. You'd almost think St Mirren were falling over themselves to help "Rangers" to the top flight. E=Mc2
Doncaster said he hoped Rangers playing in the top tier would further increase the appeal of Scottish games to TV audiences abroad, with a recent deal extending reach to more than 100 countries. "It creates the return of Celtic-Rangers matches in the league," added Englishman Doncaster. Mark Warburton's Rangers also face Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-final on 17 April. "We've got an appetiser in 11 days' time and up to four main courses to follow next year in the league," said Doncaster. "Those are genuine global events. For a lot of people around the world that's what Scottish football means. "They will turn the eyes of the world towards Scotland and help to commercialise the game for the benefit of all member clubs." up to four main courses to follow next year Please Mr. Doncaster don't treat me as if I'm a gullible consumer. "Broadband speeds up to to 300 mps". "up to 60% off this sofa" "earn up to 6% interest on your money" "earn up to £100k per year" A "genuine global event" based on sectarianism is disgusting. By the way, my appendage is up to 14 inches long.

irvine_buddie
I thought that until they pumped Dundee 4 -0 That's the best I seen them play all season, they were good in some games and they'll beat teams in the premier league but dont know wether they can be consistent enough to finish above teams like Partick, Dundee, Ross County, Inverness etc. Edited April 8, 2016 by irvine_buddie
