Leicester Saint
Be nice to see a thread that's purely about praising Jim. By all accounts back to his best in the last 2 games. People talk about Steven Thompson as a future manager of St.Mirren. However, I wouldn't be surprised to see Jim Goodwin taking up the reigns one day. norrie82
He shouldn't be leaving saints. He is 34 and can still play whilst organisation is his strength. Under murray he was the only shining light yet rae plays agnew, carswell and quinn before him. Three of the worst players at the club. Don't anyone say quinn is doing well, he's absolutely anonymous. Jims been our fans favourite and is still wanting to be there fighting our cause. I find it sad that Alex can't find a role for him. He was a similar player at 35 for rangers. Good luck jim your a club legend

nedflanders123
I'm with you Norrie. We could get another year out of Goody. Another Legend who will be remembered forever He is one of our highest earners and 34 now. Maybe AR thinks he is no longer worth that? Same as Sir Thommo. Let's give both a great send off. norrie82
Faraway jim deserved better this year. He wasn't offered a chance under rae. He has been sidelined whilst agnew yes agnew gets a game

He has been sidelined whilst agnew yes agnew gets a game Don't disagree Norrie but while Jim may give one more season he is a marked man and still has discipline issues that players and refs target. Perhaps that is one reason Alex has not played him plus was Jim part of the alleged dressing room disharmony? If he goes, it will be either be because Alex thinks he can no longer do a job or his wages are too high.
Callum Gilhooley
FFS, he's past it. Get over it. He`s only 28. He just plays like an old guy. It is Agnew you`re referring to isnt it ?
Dibbles old paperboy
He is one of our highest earners and 34 now. Maybe AR thinks he is no longer worth that? Same as Sir Thommo. Let's give both a great send off. Thommo is 3 years older and has hardly done much in the last 2 seasons. Goodwin had shown good discipline and form in the first half of the season before someone broke his ankle in training.

Their disciplinary record is worse than Jim's this season.
davidg
Really like Jim Goodwin but we need to move on. We need a Goodwin type of player but younger and better. Thanks Jim and all the best.

Not really though. Mallan has played 20 games more, picked the same bookings and 1 more red card. Similar record but 100% more games. Watson won't be here and Mallan has done a pretty good job this season. If Jim goes then I think AR will bring in new and experienced players to cover his position. If he goes then there have to be grounds for that decision.
scottd
Don't know why Norrie rates Quinn alongside the duds. I reckon he has looked a player and I hope we hang on to him.
