Think both we and he himself know he's finished as a player at the club but it's good to see we've kept him in gainful employment through his injury and are utilising him in a few other capacities, giving him the opportunity to progress his career with one eye on his path after his playing days are up. Scott Stafford
Think it shows the club in a good light as well and if he's any good at the scouting then brilliant. He could perhaps point us in the directiom of any decent players at the Motherwell under 15s

Everything said there is how I feel about it all. He's not good enough to play for us anymore.
Dalrybud
Well done to all. The sort of approach that pays dividends in the long run.

Julian Banjos
No great surprise but DC is in the paper today saying that he's been told he won't be offered another playing contract by St Mirren. Rehab and the odd bit of scouting will continue in the short term but he's hoping that he can get a new club in the next few weeks.
paul torfason
probably go to United and score loads, and wee dafties for paying his rehab and wages, crazy decision,if going to pay for what a said then must keep him till end o season, what is the point in doing all that ,then letting him go,another crazy decision, along with signing hilson and Duffy, must have just spunked at least 40 grand on those three, ridiculous

Our reputation in supporting players when injured will help us in signing future players, in my opinion. Best of luck to David.

melmac
Do clubs not medical insurance to cover players injuries. As far as I'm aware, we stopped paying private insurance for players back in the 90's, players may well take their own insurance out mind you. Club did right by him by giving him the scouting gig and supporting his rehab (both of which wouldn’t of been a great financial burden in the grand scheme of things and scouting would be beneficial to us) and now are giving him a chance to continue his football career. There was no way he was ever coming back as a player for us, he’d of been away if he hadn’t gotten injured. I think what the club has done should be applauded. If you are so incensed at the signings of Hilson and Duffy as well as looking after a player who was seriously injured playing for Saints then maybe you should write (spellcheck is your friend) to Jack Ross and Tony Fitzpatrick for their explanations instead of bitching on here. I trust the Club with their decisions, after all ,we are not doing so bad are we ???
