Absolutely gutted to meet big Ian Brown down at the stadium this morning to hear that his best mate and Mr St.Mirren Tam McGarry has tragically passed away this morning.

Thoughts with the whole family.

RIP Tam

f**k sake. That's a shame. Knew Tam in passing and was speaking to him a couple of years ago about Stevie loving life out in Australia.

Fond memory of him was up at Dingwall when Stevie scored his first goal for Ross County against us and he ran towards the vicinity of Tam who was in the St Mirren end of the main stand who didn't know whether to be chuffed for his boy or give him the vicky. Always gives me a wee smile to think about it and the conflicting emotions of a no doubt very proud da! :)

Thoughts are with his family and friends. :(

Absolutely shocked this morning when I heard the sad news. Around this time last year we were all down in Sheffield for the pre season game V SMFC. As usual Tam and Brownie were the life and soul of the party. Thoughts are with his wife and family and of course his son Steven a Saints league winning legend. RIP TAM. St.mirren park will never be the same without you bud.

Had heard he had taken seriously unwell yesterday but was praying for a miracle.

Devastating news. Lovely guy, who was the life and soul of the party and would stop and chat to any St Mirren fan.

Like SPS had the pleasure of his company on the way to Sheffield last year, and he made it an absolute hoot.

Thoughts with his family, and his many friends. :(

Met him for the first time on the Tudor bus going to Tynecastle in the late 70s , and for the last time in Linwood a couple of weeks back when he was looking forward to the new season. As I have experienced too many times recently , life can be so cruel !

I remember Tam from going to Mechelen but didn't properly meet him until after beating Falkirk at Love Street in April 2000. Had many a good blether & laugh with him since then.

Last year at the friendly away to Sheffield Wednesday & stood at the bar having a pint with him rather than watch Saints get tanked 5-0. We talked about all sorts of nonsense and it was a right laugh.

A great guy and very, very sad news. Thoughts are with Steven & the rest of the family. sad.png
