Specifically, it is reported that Ms Sturgeon did offer to intervene in the harassment complaints process, something she repeated denied in both her written and oral evidence. The Scottish Government’s ministerial code states that a minister who “knowingly” misleads the Scottish Parliament is expected to offer their resignation. Bud the Baker
Be interesting to see how Labour & the Lib Dems vote in today's VoNC.
Bud the Baker
Big smile on Nicola's face so I suppose the vote must've gone her way... Labour abstained although I'm not sure how the Lib Dems voted - going by the count (65-31) I suspect they must've abstained too. oaksoft
Whatever you think of the SNP, today they deserve a massive round of congratulations having achieved 97% of electricity generated in the country coming from renewable sources. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-56530424 The target of 100% was one of the most ambitious in the world and apart from a couple of percent, they've achieved what they set out to achieve. Maybe now the "whit happens when it's no a windae day?" brigade can fade into the background.

Maybe now the "whit happens when it's no a windae day?" brigade can fade into the background. It was 97% of the amount used in Scotland, not 97% of electricity generated. A lot more will need to be generated in the future to keep at, or exceed, that level once more electric heating and electric cars appear. Still some achievement, though. Alex Salmond's 'popularity increasing' as former Scottish First Minister launches party Only standing candidates on the Regional Lists where the SNP only gained 4 seats last time round, more likely to hurt the Greens. Doesn't affect me I'll be voting SNP/Green again. He has a point that tactical voting for a second Independence party could increase the pro-Independence majority at Holyrood but I couldn't stomach voting for a party led by Salmond given what he's done over the last 12 months. If he had acknowledged his past behaviour had been inappropriate then maybe, if he can't acknowledge (nevermind apologize) because it might leave him open to further legal action then all the more reason for him to stay the hell out of Dodge. Interesting to see estimates that between 5-7% of the Regional List vote might win the new party seats at Holyrood. ********************* FFS - It appears Joanna Cherry has defected to Alba - Long live Boris King of the World,,, Edited March 26, 2021 by Bud the Baker

It's not as if his "bestie" (her words) learned anything from him! As a politician, Salmond ran rings round the UK government, resulting in the huge shift towards SNP support and independence over the past years. He'll always have my respect for that. However, he's always struck me as being rather supercilious, with a huge ego. Events over the past year have shown him for what he truly is, and rightly so, he has become reviled by most decent minded individuals. His behaviour has been reprehensible and quite why anyone would vote for him is rather baffling. Like BTB it will be SNP/Greens for me.
