He was just a kid when he played for us, plenty of ability, but lacked the physicality to compete in the SPL where, sadly, athleticism is the name of the game. Happens to far too many young players in this country, boys with genuine talent who aren't big enough or strong enough. Clubs don't have the patience, or maybe the resources to nurture their physical development. They just go with the guys who are 6'1" when they're 18.

It's not even athleticism.  Players like Drogba, Klinsman, Toure, Cavallio are athletic, in our league its more about the ability to cope with niggly little fouls and to run (one paced) for 90 minutes

Definitely, there's nothing wrong with big strong players, but what I'm saying is, it shouldn't be the be all and end all that it's taken as in Scottish football.

Another player Danny couldn't accommodate. DL really was a shite manager who got lucky !

Yes he was. Look where his career is at now. It's similar to Hendrie, a couple of decent seasons then obscurity.

Danny Lennon - St Mirren Football Club Legend.

His time before and after Greenhill Road , totally irrelevant.

Manager of the marvellous St Mirren Team who won the League Cup in 2013.

And that Team looked bloody splendid in an actual St Mirren Strip unlike the legendary Dudes from 1987.

My saint supporting mate lives in Australia and has seen him play quite a lot. He is baffled at this move. He was good in the auzzie league but not Prem league quality. Who knows maybe he will do a mahrez and up his game...or he will be loaned out for a few seasons and sold on.

Talk is he'll never see the inside of the MC dressing room and the only time he'll wear the shirt is when supporting from the stands.

He hasn't been signed for the Man City first team. I doubt Guardiola has ever heard of him never mind has plans to use him.

It's just a practice of shuffling money around the Man City group. They'll be hoping to get a fee from a football league club for him, and maybe they will.
