Kemp 5,553 Report post Posted September 3, 2018 Hopkin would make sense now. We need to be build a tough, difficult to beat unit out of the current squad.

insaintee 4,927 Report post Posted September 3, 2018 Hopkins for me. Or Ray McKinnon for the Lols Would be happy with Goodwin or indeed Danny, Danny Lennon.
insaintee 4,927 Report post Posted September 3, 2018 For what it's worth, I thought Stubbs would work out for us when he signed but It quickly became clear that he too much baggage, no knowledge of the team or of Scottish football

Goody or Danny. Brian Rice seems to be well respected as a coach so might be good alongside either. Just depends if Rice has alienated the players or is liked.
Yardley 134 Report post Posted September 3, 2018 It will take very good coach to get us out of this shambles AS has created. Some players aren't good enough for the championship never mind top tier. It pains me to say this but Hopkin could be the best option.

Jim was on BBC Scotland the other night and comes across really well. I genuinely prefer him to Jim Mc and Billy Dodds ( who comes across as a walloper)
Ethan 1,011 Report post Posted September 3, 2018 Hopkin is not the brains behind Livi it was Martindale. We need someone who knows how to set up a team and get them playing for each other.

We still have a team of Sammy P McGinn Ekersley Baird MacKenzie S McGinn McGennis Smith Mullen Flynn Mc Shane Too bad we've lost Stewart who looked the liveliest of our forwards preseason

ulysses 1,273 Report post Posted September 3, 2018 Then lets get MartindaleWouldn’t happen even if we tried. You need certain coaching badges to be qualified to become a manager/head coach.

Yardley 134 Report post Posted September 3, 2018 McKenzie is out for 6months and Baird isn't good enough at this level. The midfield is decent and the strikers aren't good enough at this level.

Desperately Seeking Susans 1,380 Report post Posted September 3, 2018 When Guti was rumoured to be interested in the job it did stir some excitement for me and others. But when it was know that the club was more interested in someone who 'knows Scottish football', I became a bit deflated but I was prepared to acknowledge and accept their judgement. At the time I thought, 'Scottish football?' a bit anachronistic considering the successful trend in British football nowadays. In the English Premier league, 65% of managers are foreign mostly from Italy or Spain and Scottish football isn't exactly the model the modern game aspires to. In fact if you look at 'Scottish football' today, there is a substantial number of foreign players playing here so I feel the club were a wee bit behind the times on that one.
Cornwall_Saint 4,024 Report post Posted September 3, 2018 Jim McIntyre for me. He actually knows the league, rebuilt Ross County in dire times and would make signings equivalent to our level in Jan. I'd love to have Goodwin but now is not the time. We need an experienced head who can turn this shit around. Right now this is the equivalent of the pish Gary Teale was left with, and it would be a suicide note for Goodwin. Would rather get him in if we were relegated or had a steady squad in the SPL. Too much work needed right now.
