October 4, 20169 yr Robert Grieve @robert_grieve 33s33 seconds ago Jack Ross is the new St Mirren manager. Deal agreed. Announcement due this evening @scotsunsport welcome aboard jack!
October 4, 20169 yr Aye, if confirmed, that'll do for me. A gamble, of course, but I have a wee feeling that this could be good. Anyway, welcome back Jack!
October 4, 20169 yr If it is him welcome aboard Jack.Pretty much the same post I've made after every single appointment over the last few years:He's not who I would have picked but I hope he proves me wrong and goes on to huge success with St Mirren.

Every appointment is a gamble. Like you I have a good feeling about this one, hopefully all the support can unite behind the new boss. No doubt there will be some who can't handle it and we won't have to wait long to hear them.

October 4, 20169 yr A bit "meh" after some of the early hope we could have had a fairly high profile manager. I'm away to check the odd's on a "Ross must Go" thread being started before Christmas.
October 4, 20169 yr Very good appointment. Just what we need, someone who is intelligent, articulate, good at man management and plays attacking football. What's not to like. Welcome back Jack.

Even if Guardiola, Klopp or some such figure wanted the Saints job you'd still want MacPherson to be appointed. Quite touching really.
October 4, 20169 yr Delighted with this appointment. He's an intelligent, well spoken manager who has a bit of charisma who can lead us to better things. Well done to the board for taking the time over this appointment, to me it seems a well thought, strategic, long term appointment. I really hope the supporters get behind him and we see this as the start of a successful new era for the club. The only way is up!
October 4, 20169 yr imo a risky appointment but be behind him from the off and hope he is a success neded to get this club back to where we belong coys
October 4, 20169 yr Well another saga comes to an end. Welcome back to the Saint Mirren professional football club pte ltd co Mr Jack Ross. Now who will the assistant be? I hope for Mr James Goodwin, I really do!
October 4, 20169 yr Always likely after we'd asked permission to speak to Alloa. Not who I'd have gone for at the outset but of the four on the shortlist probably the one I'd have gone for. Let's hope this one works out.
October 4, 20169 yr Well as I've said all along I can't understand the logic being shown. Uninspiring would sum it up for me too.
October 4, 20169 yr Good luck Jack. You will need it and let's hope he doesn't read the pish that's spouted on here if we don't win the next 3 games on the bounce.

October 4, 20169 yr Mmmm. ..oh well. Welcome aboard.I've run out of optimistic feelings when we appoint another new manager. Not holding my breath but hopefully we have finally got somebody who will turn this shambles into something worth watching.I am relieved it's Jack rather than Gus!
October 4, 20169 yr Not a marquee appointment and in my mind a gamble - but if successful and gets the support behind him that will do for me !
October 4, 20169 yr Even if Guardiola, Klopp or some such figure wanted the Saints job you'd still want MacPherson to be appointed. Quite touching really. I haven't wanted MacPherson re-appointed since he left the club until now. Either of those figures you mentioned would have been just fine. Jack's just another rookie. Like Ian Murray but with even less experience. It's another punt, might pay off but probably won't. We just need to watch now and see if we get lucky. If we don't we will get relegated.
