St Mirren FC. Never Ending Incompetence

How long has the Undersoil Heating been broken?

Hopefully, it wasn't just tested this week for the first time in months.

If not working for a while, why has it not been fixed?

Going to lose stacks of money if Matches are postponed, starting with tomorrow's.

Should have been an absolute priority to have it maintained and working properly.

So, reading the Official Site, they haven't checked or maintained the Undersoil Heating till today.

Sooner we get Astro Turf, the better.

How many Fans are going to attend the rearranged Match on a midweek night?

Why if the USH has been broken for a while was it not brought to our attention when members were deciding what to do with the cash surplus (likewise the issues at Ralston). I'm not saying that members would have chosen to use the cash for these issues over the disabled viewing but given we are stakeholders we should be made aware of these issues. Who knows, amongst our support we may have people with skills that could help fix such issues but that is impossible if we are kept in the dark. Smacks of burying bad (financial) news in the midst of nothing but an ocean of bad news on and off the park. I'm just back from a week's holiday and every person I spoke to about football went generally "ah that's the team that haven't won a league game this season". Never have I met so many people who knew of our club (for all the wrong reasons). Seems to me the death vortex is speeding up and we are nowhere near the bottom of the spiral yet. Utterly depressing, never been so low in a Saints following sense in my 40+ years.

What due diligence was carried out by the buyer? For someone to know so much about the infrastructure having seen it built I would have assumed that he would have checked whether it was still fit for purpose and maintained.

No idea buddie, must have been known about for a while for it to have made it into the accounts.

Impossible to know what the extent of the problem is from the outside but since they are pursuing the insurance company you can be sure it's not a few hundred quid.

The bottom line is it doesn't matter who's to blame, shifting the blame around doesn't help anyone.

Our new owners don't have their problems to seek, they need the backing of the fans to help get through to the other side. Sitting on the sidelines bitching about it won't help anyone.

Fact that we support just seems that we are taken advantage of...... End of the day us supporters are customers to you know.

On the park is bad enough............. we really could have done with a win of any sort

Poor stuff. If it's made it into the statement with the accounts then it's been known about for a while and alternative measures taken while we sort out the problems. Could have put covers down a few days ago to stop the frost getting in. Should have had some sort of contingency plan.

I wonder why SMISA  and GLS did not know about these issues prior to purchasing this shambolic Football club, Have the Fans been sold a pig in a poke ?

Just a thought...if the issue with the undersoil heating (USH as everyone on this here little forum likes to call it) is that of money (it usually is) then why dont we just fix the bloody thing?

Smisa could dip into their cash reserves, fix the bloody thing  and bill Gordon Scott who in turn can remove the amount from the future purchase price.  Easy peasy.

Such an approach could also be used for any maintenance required at Ralston etc.  Smisa would feel useful again, the club gets slapped into ship shapeness pronto style, Smisa are that bit closer to the "dream", the club benefits hugely and the clearly unimportant season ticket holders and matchday fans need not be just as embarrassed by the club.

Wouldn't be very fair on the new owners of the club if the USH was broken when the club was sold and that was not disclosed?

Shut up Ffs.

They are all Saints fans and have all made a cnut of it.

Stop defending the fuds.

Spending all that money with no due diligence.

Farce

The Fans do f**king plenty by just turning up every week. Shouldn't need to do anymore.

And the Hopeless Diddies in charge cannae even get a cup game on due to a bit of frost.

Diabolical

Think you could be looking at six figures for all the stuff that needs done, and that's even before the Astroturf is considered.

The club is looking to finance what needs done at Ralston, and are pursuing their insurance for whatever is wrong with the USH.

You mentioned the JD Sports deal being ended Div. Can you expand?
