faraway saint
Murray has drawn Tsitsipas in the upcoming US Open. That's him out then. Not sure what the future holds, going nowhere fast. He's just brought out a new set of sports wear, best to stick to that.
Scott-Leeds
Time to put the racket away in a competitive manner.I loved watching Murray and it’s been great for years with so many brilliant players on the circuit He was definitely box office, he may sneak a tournament win on the invitational tournaments but can’t see a major Cheers Murray for great memories

A great pity, beating a player of this standard would have been a massive boost to his confidence. Ach, got to take something from this, his best performance for quite some time. Tennis apart, sound like Tsitsipas has taken a leaf from the Djokovic book of cheating. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/58389189 Edited August 31, 2021 by faraway saint

Yes he was unlucky but had the chances to go 2 seats up and let it slip . Played some fantastic Tennis and looked fit as a fiddle but let Tsitsipas get under his skin with some mind games before last set He was .unhappy with Tsipitas taking a near 10 minute toilet break and it niggled him throughout the set. Great effort but just came up short . If he had the mental strength of Federer etc, he would have won .

faraway saint
Radacanu currently in action the quarter finals. 2-3 down against the serve. No watching it, had enough commandeering the TV last night.

Has a chance to serve out the set, 6-3 first set, could be the real deal this girl. Edited September 8, 2021 by faraway saint

faraway saint
Well, quite unbelievable, she's only gone and done it, through to the final and, I think, without losing a set. Hard to put this into any sort of context, had to qualify and has sailed through, and she's British. Oh, well done @shull with the name change to the thread. faraway saint
Final scheduled for 9:20 tomorrow evening, hope she win's in 2 sets, as she has done throughout, not sure I'd manage to stay up for a 3 setter. Anyhow, since she's been here since she was 2 I'll stick with supporting her as she's British enough for me. I mean, Greg Rusedski was also British, right? faraway saint
Just been doing a wee bit of reading on her opponent, she's beaten some big guns on route to the final, promising to be a cracker. Leylah Fernandez defeated four seeded players and two Grand Slam champions en route to the women's singles final.

IF it goes into a 3rd set court time could play a part, although at that stage it's more a mind game than physical IMO. Anyhow, nice to have someone to support at this stage of a tournament although the other Murray is in the final of the doubles.

Just noticed there's another Brit on the opposing team, J. Salisbury, never heard of him. Edited September 10, 2021 by faraway saint
