His debut at Cappielow. We won 3-0 that day, Basher and Yardley mauled them. Scrimmy was the star turn at the other end, he was immense. Then it sort of all just fell apart from there. The Scottish reserve cup and Paisley charity cup getting equal column space to the European Cup semi finals is great. Manchester United's team in the European cup semi vs Milan, less than 3 months after the entire club was decimated by the Munich air disaster. The fact that there was a World Cup trial match for England players to potentially play their way into the squad. Jimmy Greaves knocking the goals in in the Youth Cup final of '58 as well as Johnny Haynes, Sir Albert Finnie and Brian Clough all getting on the scoresheet in that world cup trial match. In what is hopefully a good omen, England getting pumped 5-0 by a Yugoslavian team that will certainly have featured several Croatians.
