The thing is its not like they have paid out a massive amount on him so they don't actually have a great amount to lose. He has gone there won a scottish cup, won promotion and would leave them an established top league team.

If he goes next year for free what have they actually lost? If they sell him, between our 33% and whatever amount they need to pay elsewhere, are they going to be left with much change? Probably not. Is it really in their best interests to sell him or just get another year out of him.

If Hibs can flog him for £2-3M they can't let that slip away.  I just don't think there is that much money in Scottish football.

Nothing less than £5m, but you can have him for nothing next season.

Rumoured that Celtic are still favourite with a £2.7M bid plus Allan and Morgan on loan. Probably nonsense.

Hibs have already said they will not entertain anything less than £5M

I know they were definitely quoted saying this in January,  though surely his clubs valuation has dropped now he has 12 months left rather than 18. I do believe however a minimum £3m is what they will entertain. Whether that's plus a player exchange or not who knows,  could depends on a bidding war.

Hibs chairman at their AGM has said McGinn sell on clause is not 33% . Anyone know what it is ? A Hibs fan said it's 21%.

Gilmour said 33% . Someone's telling porkies.

my understanding is , that its %30 of any transfer monies received  over £100,000 , and we won,t be entitled to any further sell on fees , should meatball be transferred again.

This.....but its 33.3%

Say he gets sold for £3m, our share should be 33.3% of £2.9m (£966,657)

I would think the clause is 33% of the fee received by Hibs - the way the vast majority of sell on clauses work. I have heard that Petrie claimed the clause was lower, but unless Gilmour has been economical with the truth, I'd assume he's just trying to appease his fans a little.

Well our chairmen at the time Mr Gilmour stood in a meeting and told everyone there myself included it was 33%.
