Quite a jump from £1.5m initial offer to £2.5m.  Would be pleasantly surprised.  Suspect if it is £2.5m that would include appearances and trophies.  Septic are pretty shrewd financially unfortunately.

Tight bastards you mean.

The problem we have now is every club knows we have that money now and will up the price of any player if they are looking for a fee.

It’s the same for every club when they have money to spend from transfer fees.  The power has shifted to the player and his agent nowadays. If the player wants to move then 9 times out of ten the agent will force the clubs hands to sell.  We won’t be spending huge fees on players anyway, so don’t worry sit back and see what transpires.

Gordon Scott has said any money coming in will be used to generate future money by redeveloping the stadium so can't see us going out spending money in transfers

A Scottish team paying £2.5 million for a squad player

Hardly tight

and probably double/treble that in profit in one season.  Have you seen the size of their biscuit tin recently.

Talking about filling in corners.

Yeah but only for the 2 corners at the away end for the moment to accommodate more away fans especially the bigot brothers

When will work start on this, soon after the McGinn money comes in? Heard the club were wanting a cafe/museum at the stadium too.

I heard that the North & South Stands are getting a Tier built on them.

The Macgennis transfer money will be used to fund the new Double Decker Stands

With Corners filled in we are heading for a 12000/13000 Capacity Stadium

Don't need more seats until we fill stadium every week. Only way to do this is to invest in players. So no leave stadium alone for now

Its getting to the point we have to accommodate the old firm an extra stand to generate extra income. We wouldnt need to move our own fans if the away end was extended. Season ticket sales this season already suggest we are moving in the right direction with home fan figures on the up.

Filling in the corners would improve the overall atmosphere (and appearance) of the ground even if the new sections didn't consist of more occupied seats.

I imagine GS will be thinking of any additional ways to generate income over and above additional capacity. It will be interesting to see what the plans are.

Sadly, I don't think the club will have the foresight and entrepreneurial wherewithal to consider installing a running track, however.

Why do we need extra income ?

But even when the OF come, we don’t sell out the ground.

additional seats, at this point, would be dead money.

The OF could sell 4000 or 5000 tickets every time they come, expanding the away end makes perfect sense.

We've also sold more home season tickets than ever before, hopefully suggesting our home crowds will continue to grow.  If you look at the Morton game last season we could also have sold more tickets there if we had more options and where to house the small Morton support.

It will be a considerably better stadium if we can fill in all the corners, and if we can afford to do that now and believe we can build further revenue generating facilities such as offices as part of the development then lets go for it!  GS made his money in property so I'll trust him on this one.

Say we add 500 seats with 2 corners developed in the away end. Those 500 seats will be filled 3 times a season and only in seasons in the top division. 1500 x £25 = 37.5k per season. We would need to be 10years solid plus in the same division as the two cheeks to even get close to generating additional revenue. Poor decision imo ! Surely money received for players should first and foremost benefit us, the Saints supporters who pay week in week out and watch these players develope, not creating capacity for away supporters most of which will remain empty most of the time. Bigger away supports giving our opponents a boost in our  stadium - great idea !!!
