As do all our rivals, so no net gain.

All it does is increase the gap between them and us.

As I am sure it is only the top league teams that gets the money, we would be 400K richer than the championship clubs we might have to play against in a playoff. For laughing and pointing, yes I hope that they get humped

Read up on Noble Sissie and Eubie Blake for a start. Then read up about his funeral and who was represented there. Jackie Wilson wrote about him in a song and he had many high profile black friends.
Blackface came at a time when for racist reasons it was very difficult to hire black actors. Blackface was used to get around this problem to tell certain stories and to introduce the idea of black stage performers to audiences.
There is no need for blackface now because those barriers are no longer present. That however is no excuse for ill-educated numpties to start rewriting history to fit their agenda. I am including some academics in that too by the way.
As for women freely exposing themselves, yes the word freely is appropriate unless you are suggesting the entire porn industry operates on forcing women into performing.
You need to educate yourself. I cant do it for you.

Ffs for someone who regularly criticises Googled responses, you’ve done some nice research there. Name one contemporary writer who lauds Jolson today.

As far as the porn industry goes I’m happy to concede you probably know a lot more about that than I do.

And you are absolutely right to say you can’t educate me.

Oh I see, having watched as I defeat your ridiculous revisionist argument you now want me to provide a CONTEMPORARY writer.

Why on earth would a contemporary writer have more authority than a raft of senior figures in the black community during the time this actually happened?

You asked me for evidence, I provided it. Normal people would then either accept my evidence or find other evidence to refute it.

Nice deflection though.

You can't be educated because you are not prepared to listen. Historical evidence, some of which I have provided inconveniently doesn't back your ignorant revisionist opinion and so you resort to ridiculing it. That is scarcely my problem.

You said Jolson “is still revered”. I believe that to be a lie and you have done nothing to make me think otherwise. The positive comments you have found from your Google search are from a time when it would have been career limiting at best for a black spokesperson to say anything different.

Years ago I had a boss who always had to try and be the cleverest person in the room. He was generally hated but I always felt sympathetic towards him, clearly his behaviour was driven by inner demons.

Every time I read one of your posts I’m reminded of that little guy.

So Jackie Wilson wrote a song about him because it would have been career limiting to have done otherwise?

At that time there WAS no career for black actors.

The Negro Actors Guild had their head Noble Sissle represent them at his funeral FFS.

People are trying to discredit him because they are attempting to rewrite history in light of how some others used Blackface.

You are obviously not listening and I am not in the habit of wasting my time with idiots.

Absolutely agree with everything until the last sentence. Why do you always feel the need to make someone feel foolish after making a reasonable point?
