Another lot I've never heard of 1-3 Rangers, 60 mins.

Shull & Tantrum will be fizzing.

You really don’t follow European football much if you haven’t heard of Midtjylland 😂

They knocked Southampton out a few years ago IIRC.

Unfortunately today it looks like they are useless cunts.

Aye, giants of Europe................

That was when Koeman was in charge, we all know how that worked out.

I can't even say it never mind anything else.

2-4 now, pish poor defence.

Aberdeen not had a shot on goal, hope that continues on Sunday.

Still 1-0 down, 79 mins.

2-0, think I said after the last round they could bottle it.

We could take advantage on Sunday, they're bound to be down after this result.

Wouldn’t say they bottled it as such, Rijeka are a good side. It’s usually around now the Dons run into the side who is just too good. Think that’s it over for them now, but hopefully with a determination to turn that around, they’ll lose focus against us and we can hold on for a brave 0-0.

Shame about the Sevco score, very disappointed in Midtjylland, was expecting more off them.

I've read the views of an Aberdeen supporter who watched the game and they shat it.

Looked very much like they went for the draw, a trait of the manager when the going gets tough.

This is the reason the manager gets so much criticism, seems to fail in raising the bar every season.

There's a decent chance they will, as you suggest, be elsewhere on Sunday with nest weeks game at home.

TBH IF they score first at home they could get back in this but if they lose a goal the party's over.

Reading further views are suggesting Aberdeen were looking safe till Logan fcuked up for the penalty and opening goal.

Seems he, Logan, is prone to schoolboy errors, hope he's in full school uniform on Sunday.

In fairness you aren’t wrong there about McInnes. He’s done a great job of turning Aberdeen into a consistent higher end side, indeed the best they’ve done for years. But it has to be said they can never seem to handle the Glasgow bigots upon meeting them. Europe is a tougher gig with more unknown qualities (and they took EPL Burnley all the way last season, a stunning effort), but you’d think after a while they’d know how to take advantage of any potential weaknesses the bigots have, easy to scout them and you know you have to face them four times a season in his case.

Two of our teams have a decent chance of going through. The Govan team should do it. Centic have a better than fair chance. Aberdeen need a big win - unlikely, but possible.

Would be nice if their attention and focus is on Europe rather on the domestic league come Sunday.

On the Burnley games, Burnley were gash at the start of last season, yes an EPL team but poor & leaking goals at a frightening rate.

It's probably as much that Scottish football has fallen behind rather than Aberdeen in particular.

As you say, they have shown they are 2nd or 3rd best in our top league for the last few years.

Killie embarrassed themselves this season and, without checking, it seems almost every season Scottish teams, Celtic apart, fail to get to the league stages in Europe.

Ach well, football is still football, ranges from sublime to ridiculous.

Most of our clubs manage to embarrass themselves tbh - Hearts losing to Birkirkara, Hibs being demolished 7-0 by Malmo in Edinburgh, Killie v Connah’s Quay, and the Sevvies first ever European tie which saw them defeated by Luxembourg’s fourth force.

Aberdeen generally get knocked out by decent sides - Real Sociedad, Maribor, Apollon, Burnley - none of those are overly surprising, and the Dons generally dispatch the other opposition well.

Scottish football has indeed fallen behind, down to so many reasons. Whether it’s down to Scots compensating the English league, the poor standard of youth coaching, the endless domination of Celtic and Rangers 1872/Sevco 2012, where all decent players are snapped up, denying us any chance of competing. Scottish football entered a lost battle when money become the sole important factor in the sport, the great days of seeing Aberdeen and Dundee United as strong European sides will never come back due to the ridiculous focus on money.

Put all their eggs in one basket, so to speak.

Sorry. Couldn't help myself.

Some amount of money spent in the EPL, shocked at Liverpool......................interesting that they haven't splashed hardly any cash.

They are, by definition, all English Clubs. How much have Scottish Clubs spent so far?

I haven’t really been following the transfer market because the money being spent is just irritating, but I thought Chelsea were under embargo - what’s the £40m about then?

Not entirely sure, the £40m has been on one player Mateo Kovacic (Real Madrid), considering they got over £88m for hazard there must be some limitations on signing players.
