HSS Posted May 28 Report Posted May 28 I don’t think Martindale would ever get a gig with us When we had to sack three players the term “Family Club” was well used Can’t see us giving the job to someone who already has a serious conviction Quote

In fact. It would be the very opposite of the essence of a family club to take his spent conviction as a reason for not employing him. Quote
faraway saint Posted May 31 Report Posted May 31 The Champions League final coming up with PSG, who, at times, have been superb, against Inter who themselves have been electric up front. Quite often two very good sides can cancel each other out but while both teams have goals in them they also can be fragile in defence. Add all that together and it's got goals written all over it. I've no real allegiance for either team so I'll just sit back and enjoy the football on show. Quote
faraway saint Posted May 31 Report Posted May 31 PSG 1-0 Inter, great passing move. 12 mins. PSG been the better side in the early stages Quote

Inter not really been in it, a couple of headers, that's, about it from them. PSG are just a joy, press high, move the ball quickly and they pass to their own players more often than not. Inter need a goal and fast after half time Quote

It's something that's never really went away. We celebrated in much the same way a couple of seasons ago when we won the penalty shoot out v DU. Exuberance is part and parcel of watching the less successful sides and it's the lows that make the highs so much more enjoyable. I know the game wasn't technically over but, let's be honest, It REALLY was. Watching your local club is almost like a drug. You know you'll suffer but, at the time, you think you need it so, when the drug actually does works, it can overawe you. Not saying it's right but I can see where adults can regress to youthful actions. I believe most will feel silly and probably suffer physically later. Yeah, you're right about it not really going away and probably spot on regarding the bit in bold also. 👍 Quote
