McGinn really hurting, this will stand him, and a few others, in good stead.

We are, IMO, about 2-3 players away from having a better team.

Gilmour WILL become more important, Patterson showed enough to suggest he's a potential addition to our right side.

We already have a strong left side.

Feck it, let ourselves down in the 1st game, well deserved point against the English and outdone tonight.

PS Easily forgotten we missed Tierney big time in the 1st game, although he was quiet tonight.

We lack the rarest skill of all - the ability to score goals.

It didn't really, the goal apart he was in/out of the game, they have quite a few other players who can play football.

A decision/gamble to try, many have tried/failed to mark him out of the game.

More to do with us not doing enough WHEN we had the ball, a couple of our players were off the boil, TBH hard to pick any who were outstanding.

Indeed

As Strachan said post match Croatia midfield had best game in two years and trying to man mark a player lessens Scotland too with a essentially man out Scotland side too

A lesson learned tonight for players and  fans

Just not at the very highest level. Great effort but outclassed tonight by a very good side.

We're not at the highest level.

We're 44th in the world rakings in a group that had the world number 4, 16 and (not much in it) 40.

As I've said, we were unlucky to lose the first game, didn't deserve to win it, deserved a point, at least, against England, and were, ultimately, well beaten tonight.

In the bigger picture we're moving in the right direction.

Again, Gilmour and Patterson are good additions, aye, we could do with a striker who scores 20+ goals a year, not many about, certainly at this level.

Most of Croatia play revolves around modric, so why the hell not try and mark him out the game, etc. It's not as though he is a young up and coming player, he's been about for a long time.

We were never going to mark him out the game he's to good,  but we should have at least tried to mark him and stopped the easy pass to him and not giving him the time and space, no wonder he tore us a new one.  we constantly left him free to receive the ball especially Armstrong who wandered off him umpteen times and just before he scored.

We gave the ball away far too easily you can't do that against this team.  This game more than the other 2 we needed wee Billy Gilmore to help us keep the ball.

Really missed Gilmore. Armstrong didn't have a good game.

Well beaten and confirmed how over rated this team was. Clarke will be allowed to take us to World Cup elimination before being dismissed. The so called big players were badly found out tonight and as before, nothing up front.

Next game away to Denmark who are having a good tournament and are arguably

a superior team to Scotland

So if 10,000 Tartan Army go to Copenhagen for this game, tell me are they there

for the football or an excuse for a piss up?

I know it wouldn't have reached the players, probably! but the over confidence of most of the 'Tartan Army' and many of the pundits on TV and radio was staggering..... writing Croatia off as over the hill duffers, well past their best. My goodness they even had well known football expert Val McDermitt on last night before the game telling us Croatia peaked 3 years ago and that their players were in the "winter of their career"
Modric? who's Modric? ah yes, that oul' fla.
The manager could have shuffled the pack, altered formartion, man marked Modric but the outcome would have been the same.
Well, unless we had got that f**king bit of luck and bounce of the ball we have NEVER had in the finals we have reached.
Never once.....unlike Wales, Norn Irn ad Rep of Ireland.
It was like instant replay dejavous all over again.

As if it wasn't obvious but the lack of a REAL world class player has cost us again.

The 2nd Czech goal, the Modric goal, just two examples of finishing that we simply don't possess anywhere in the team.

On the plus side we do have some players who we can look to see us improve for the next few years.

Nothing else for it, pick ourselves up and keep improving.

Czech game -

Good performance, plenty chances created , no end product and Marshall went AWOL killing the game

England game -

Rode our luck early on , created good chances , no end product, could have won but the draw about fair

Croatia game -

No stand out Scottish performance whatsoever, outplayed by a better team

Glaringly obvious Dykes/Adams after 3 games is not producing goals - substitution should have been at halftime , bringing Nisbet on with less than 10 minutes was laughable and pointless

However, positives ? We finally made it back to the ‘Big stage’ , played well, showed overseas we have improved and there’s definitely a really good core and future ahead

Goal-scorers required urgently

Nisbet is never an international player in his life. Had a decent season at club level but is absolute miles away from any other level.

Completely deflated after that. Feel the big players let Clarke down somewhat last night but also bitterly disappointed at our tactics, failure to change them and timing of our substitutes. Can understand the decision to play Armstrong but part of me wanted to see a slight shuffle in midfield and go for it with Turnbull in the boiler-room.

A cakewalk for a Croatia team that didn't need to come out of second gear.

Is it just me or does McGinn flatter to decive every time. Sticks his arse out then spins and does a dive to the ground. Brings a bit of dig but also seems miles off it.
