Tory Wins Ferguslie

She peddled the cuddly Tory persona, but was called out when she didn't condemn despicable Tory welfare benefit reforms. Her mask slipped.

Sadly, some folks are very easily fooled.

Cuddly Tory Persona? Trying my hardest to identify one single Tory I could describe as cuddly... Let me see... Thatcher, Tebbit, May, erm, Tony Blair... nope. Can't do it.

Thing is so many idiots have no idea that unless you are over £80,000 a year which most tory MP's are with their other incomes you are going to suffer the biggest austerity cuts that will take us back to the victorian day's thanks to such a huge Tory majority at the next election. Everything will be steamrollerd through with no opposition, really scary. In a few years Scotland will vote for independence when it starts feeling the pain and the SNP know it make no mistake.

What a day.

Can't wait for the GE next month.

Tories here, Tories there, Tories every...

You hoping Tories don't win that as well?

All the results in and it's yet another resounding election victory for the SNP. The plucky Tories have picked up a few scraps from Labour plus a few pro union protest votes by a few idiots who are incapable of separating local issues from national issues. Labour continue in everyone's eyes to have a mare. That said it's interesting that a SLAB in total disarray ended up virtually neck and neck seat wise with the Tories yet Tory supporters are hailing this as some sort of huge victory. There was only one winner and by a wide margin, as has been the case in Scotland now for nigh on a decade. Got to love all the losers spin techniques though. It all bodes well for another thumping SNP return to Westminster next month.

Eh, you do know the Conservatives won today?

No, SNP won most seats ( about 50% more) than the Scottish Conservatives in yesterday's Scottish Local Government vote.

Maybe he's misinterpreted the meaning of the word "win".

Maybe it stems from his inability to accept with good grace all the wins that Jack Ross has orchestrated since his appointment,

But of course, we are part of this here United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

As voted for by The Scottish electorate in 2014.

And in this great nation, the conservatives recorded yet another historic victory.

What a day!

So the Tories won in England and the SNP won in Scotland, in everyone's own eyes we are all winners, let's just leave it at that and hope we all unite behind the one result that really matters this weekend. I'm off to bed as I have an early(ish) train to Edinburgh to catch in the morning. BTW TC if Hibs thrash us 431 v 276 tomorrow it will be a magnificent result for which Jack and the players will be lauded by yourself !

Silly TC

Who won yesterday's vote in Northern Ireland then?

Silly TC

Doesn't realise that there is no UK wide winner to separate local government elections in Wales, England and Scotland. Or NI when they have one.

Silly TC

Can't separate the local cooncil elections from a referendum almost 3 years ago.

Silly TC

Doesn't realise the UK he talks about isn't a nation ( the clue is in the word United)

Silly TC

Tick, tock

Those numbers. Take some spin doctor to argue that this is a good day for the SNP.

+164 v -7

No, just someone who can add up.

So, to sum up, pro Indy parties, -2, pro-unionist parties +2. Aye, they should be proud at making such a huge comeback...

Blue Tories now ahead of red Tories, both sets of Tories still waaaay behind the party which won on Thursday.

No spin needed to point out the SNP didn't end up with 7 less seats. They ended up with more than 2012.

The -7 is a made up historical guess based on the new boundaries this year.

600 votes out of 5,000 in "Ferguslie Park" and it makes the national news as a Tory triumph.

PDE reporting that the Tory elected in Paisley Northwest (includes Feegie but also up as far as Craw Road) had the same name as a local community activist who was also on the ballot paper.
