Hope he stays, but if he leaves, good luck to the boy, thanks for the goals and the effort... you played a part in the Great Escape.

JR picked out the 2-0 at Somerset as a really critical game. For me the Stelios 2-0 Hibs a few days later was even bigger.

The Saturday, we beat Ayr to get within 5 points then, on the Tuesday, there was the Ryan Stevenson farce and Ayr go 8 ahead again. 24 hours later the Stelios show against the league leaders and we got it back to 5. That must have been a real, unexpected kick in the teeth for Ayr and obviously we're left thinking we can beat anyone in the league.

Unfortunately, I get the feeling as well though that'll he be away. A few things don't really sit right. Jack was saying he was a maverick who could wind up others in training and it sort of stuck out McGinn shouting at him when he was on the ground poleaxed after one of Ayr's goals in the 6-2 game. I think I'm right in saying as well that he was one of the few players who didn't go to the Bankhouse on Saturday night. A shame really because he would have got a hero's welcome.

To be fair, I've seen McGinn give Billy O'Brien pelters during a game too. Stelios did get a McGinn bollocking, but to be fair to Stelios, it was a foul on him all day long. Annnnyway... maybe he's off for a handful of reasons.

I trust Jack's judgement.

Apparently only about half the team were on the list to come to the bankhouse (due to size of the squad I'm assuming) and he just wasn't one of them for whatever reason, think he did turn up later on though. Don't think you can read too much into McGinn giving him a bollocking on the park, that's the captain's job.

Clangers was sharing that picture of Stelios on the bus, already looking a bit worse for wear! Maybe he just had to lie down for a bit!

One day after signing up Adam Eckersley for 2 more seasons  ............

From BBC website,

"St Mirren boss Jack Ross urges education drive to combat gambling in football."

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39871679

From Adam Eckersley's Wikipedia page,

Eckersley credited Alex Ferguson for helping him to stop gambling after Ferguson grew concerned about Eckersley's habit; Eckersley stopped playing poker after Ferguson told him a story about Keith Gillespie and his gambling habit.

Just coincidence I presume.

Was one not referring to football gambling, the other casino gambling.

Need two strikers in even if we manage to keep Loy IMO. Sutton is a bench warmer next season. Smith isn't a goalscorer. That's even if we retain Mallan and Morgan's goals.

With the lack of strikers we have at present, and Cammy Smith in the team, we were among the highest scorers in Britain since the end of January. The way we play means we get goals from all over. Sutton is a good option from the bench for a more physical  threat on occasion. Mallan, Morgan, Magennis, Smith and Loy are all attacking, dangerous players for the opposition, while McGinn chips in with the odd goal, McKenzie and Davis are potent threats at set pieces and the likes of Stelios are also likely to get goals.

Another striker to add to that lot would suffice in my opinion, but I take your point.

Did Jack Ross actually say Stelios winds up other players on the training ground as I have not heard that ? The word Maverick describing Stelios to me that he could do things out of the ordenary / magic. Here is a player who can hold onto the ball has composure in front of goal. Just my view.
