FFS Ally Hunter couldn't have played more than a handful of games for us.  :D

Didn't he only play in a short spell when Donald was injured. Also despite it being a very long time ago and my memory isn't quite what it was, I don't even remember him doing anything particularly horrific in that handful of games. Thought he was a fairly reliable temporary replacement.

Super Ally played 10 games for Saints.Won 4,lost 5 and 1 draw.

A whole 10 games. Wow! I'm surprised it was even that many! Shull doesn't take long to form an opinion does he? And not just an opinion but one that lasts for 40 years.

Also can't believe that Ally Hunter was on a shite goalkeepers list that Jim Herriot and Scrim weren't on!!

Ok. Thanks for clearing that up in such an evidential fashion.

I am out of Sportscene & Scotsport footage from the era,

Take my word for it ......

ALLY HUNTER WAS A SHITE ST MIRREN GOALKEEPER

He was asked at an away match to give the magnificent St Mirren Fans a wave.

HE FECKING REFUSED

Donald always obliged.

DONALD HUNTER IS A ST MIRREN LEGEND.

Ally was on the list after one match.

Herriot was very shite also.

So too Scrim.

You should ask him about David Elliot and Jim Gardner!emoji23.png

Will say nothing against Gardner.

Wasn't blessed with great ability but always gave 100%.

Elliot, on the other hand.

Can you remember the very unusual thing Jim Herriot used to do when playing midweek matches?

Rubbed mud below his eyes to try and reduce glare from the Floodlights.

Mind you, Scrim did save a half time penalty by Jimmy H at the Grimsby friendly in 2001. That said, it was the worst penalty ever taken by anyone ever. As they used to say in the old days, he could've saved it by throwing his bunnet on it.
