Despite all the rhetoric , the U.K. is Germany's biggest trade partner and Germany runs Europe , so the Germans need us and need to reach an amicable agreement . Even if their pay off was £50 billion , in around 5 years we would recoup that because our annual tribute would stop . .and how would they enforce payment anyway , f**kem

l don't understand why anyone who wants to live in a democracy would want to be part of the German European superstate , especially after what they did to Greece. .

I'm sure you won't be using the smiling emoticon when one of the first things to go are research grants for further education facilities.

I am sure I wouldn't give a f**k for two reasons. Firstly we have too many universities engaging in useless research. Secondly, I don't work in further education.

Personally I would like to see fewer universities and an increase in colleges.

I don't want to live in a European superstate whether it's German or any other nation.
I do enjoy freedom of movement and free trade though.

Up at "stupid o clock" again....................another problem to solve.............................

It's called running your own business. I choose my hours as and when it suits and I quite like working through the night. I also prefer to catch sleep in bursts of a few hours rather than taking large 8 or 9 hour blocks.

Not that it is any of your fecking business. Concentrate on your own life.

I have never experienced any problems moving around Europe , even when visiting communist Yugoslavia ( don't tell shull) on two occasions . Historically we were a seafaring nation that traded with the world , Europe traded with Europe . Times have changed but their "free" trade  isn't free and comes at a steep price . .

I suspect that price will be getting steeper.

When I was in Yugoslavia they were very insistent that they were not a communist country hence why they were not part of the Warsaw Pact.

Not saying they weren't mate but the people always corrected you and said they were socialist not communist.

Tito had died 4 years before I went but his pictures were still up everywhere

Tito was still alive on both my visits . One night in a restaurant there was a table of about 20 local guys having a bit of a party , they said that they were the area communist party . I don't doubt that it all changed when Tito croaked it . I remember somethings were very cheap e.g a loaf was 1p . .

Damien Green resigns from the Cabinet, May went out on a limb to save her long time friend - did he lie to her or did they believe they could tough it out?

Plenty more to follow on this story

Quote

Damian Green, one of Theresa May's closest allies, has resigned from the cabinet after an investigation found he breached the ministerial code.

He quit after he was found to have made "inaccurate and misleading" statements about what he knew about claims pornography had been found on a computer in his Commons office in 2008.

In his resignation letter, Mr Green apologised for his conduct.

The prime minister said she was "extremely sad" at his exit.

Lots of tory outrage about former police offers telling the truth.

Says it all about the Tories really.

What a joke of a party.

I can't even take much enjoyment from their current self-inflicted meltdown, given that , as blindingly incompetent as they are, the future of Scotland is in their hands as they negotiate the terms the cluster f**k that is Brexit.

Is there evidence he was/is sex craved? Genuine question as I only know he was accused of viewing online porn. Was it more serious than this, sex craving wise as opposed to security breach seriousness?

Apparently we're supposed to celebrate that we've got our blue passports back.

Only cost the UK £50 billion so far.

Yeah ,  and what would have been the cost of staying in ? The kind of money that would make £50billion look like loose change. .

Never liked those wee mickey mouse maroon passports , l suppose they were designed to go along with the Mickey Mouse Euro money. .

Who knows?

That's an easy counter argument to make as there will never be an accurate figure.

That won't be the case when we leave. £50 billion is just the first financial instalment in a long line of knock on effects that will bring Scotland and the rest to its knees in my opinion.

Of course, on the other hand,  Xenophobes like Nigel Farage and Boris Johnson could be correct and we'll be a much improved nation.

However, for those of us living in the real world.........

I never did see the point in the Fascist Superstate . I did think it was going to keep us out of wars but I got that one wrong . It is just one massive f**k up which countries like Greece , Spain , Cyprus , Eire etc found to their cost. .
