How anyone can't abide Harry Belafonte's rendition of Mary's Boy Child is beyond me. he has a very pure voice, unlike many of today's singers.

And before anyone accuses me of  being religious I can tell you that I have not been inside a church apart from at weddings and funerals for at least 40 years.

Harry is a tremendous talent , it is as simple as that . Always seemed like a very decent individual too. .

It is one of the few Christmas songs I can abide , I'm overrun on most of the others , even Stop the Cavalry has lost its appeal despite it being a cracking anti-war song. .

John Lennon - So This is Christmas

Brenda Lee - Rockin Around the Christmas Tree

Band Aid - Do They Know It's Christmas

Mariah Carey - All I Want for Christmas Is You

Slade - Merry Christmas Everybody

Was thinking at the weekend, will all Christmas songs mentioned in this thread EVER stop reappearing at Christmas?

3.  East 17              Stay

5.  Jona Lewie      Stop the Cavalry

Not a christmas song. That and The Power of Love by Frankie Goes to Hollywood don't deserve the moniker as neither song is about Christmas, the nativity etc, other than the music videos.

My top 5:

1. Wizzard - I Wish it Could be Christmas Everyday

2. 2000 Miles  - The Pretenders

3. Gary Glitter - Rock and Roll Christmas - controversial I know but it's a BELTER of a song, unfortunately.

4. Johnny Mathis - When a Child is Born

5. Chris be Burgh - A Spaceman Came Travelling

Aye, it's on my You Tube Christmas play list, similar thoughts went through my mind but the songs the song, the rest is another matter.

This is a stonking version of Winter Wonderland...................
