The 33-year-old has rejected Chinese side Chongqing Lifan and is understood to prefer a move Down Under for the lifestyle and an up-and-coming league, says Spanish newspaper Sport. Upon departing the Catalan club, Iniesta said he would not be joining another European club prompting many to believe a move to China, the MLS or the Middle East was on the cards. Former Barcelona star Andres Iniesta is keen for a move to Australia's A-League, according to a report from Spain. Australia has proved a destination for some of football elite over the years with Dwight Yorke, Alessandro Del Piero and David Villa enjoying stints in the A-League since it's inception. It's likely Football Federation Australia would help fund an Australian club's move for Iniesta, with powerhouses Melbourne City, Melbourne Victory, Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers likely to be in the frame if the Spaniard is available. J-League club Vissel Kobe is also interested in the signing of Iniesta, Cadena Ser report that Japanese side Vissel Kobe will offer Iniesta £22m-a-year, while several other clubs in Asia are likely to be keen for his services now that's it emerged he is unlikely to move to China. The Spanish outlet report Iniesta is considering a move to the J-League side, where ex-Arsenal and Bayern Munich forward Lukasz Podolski is currently playing. frbenzema2014 Posted May 8, 2018 Author Report Share Posted May 8, 2018 Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta could continue his incredible career in Australia after a proposed A$129 million dollar deal to play in the Chinese Super League has - for now at least - failed to materialise, according to a Spanish report. Finally Iniesta has shown the shirt he will wear in this new stage, with the number 8, the same he had in his time as a Barça player.
