northstbuddie
We could follow Kilmarnock's example and do a "Stevie Clarke" with Paul Lambert - he must have had his fill with English football by now. Jim Goodwin as his assistant?

Jim Goodwin as his assistant? The problem with that is Steve Clarke is a good manger and Paul Lambert isn't. As has been proven time and time again. Steve Clarke is certainly the most successful of the current crop of Scottish managers but Paul Lambert has not done too badly either and must have some useful contacts and knowledge of the English leagues which could be useful to St Mirren. It should be noted also that Lambert has enjoyed more success down south than the likes of Derek McInnes who is generally regarded as one of the more accomplished managers in Scotland. It is possible that Paul might be more interested in resurrecting his career in Scotland (and Paisley) than in the greater financial rewards that might be available elsewhere. He's been at 4 clubs since Norwich and failed at every single one of them. Not many managers get the opportunity to fail 4 times in a row. He is another Owen Coyle IMO. I wouldn't want us to go anywhere near him.
