It's not been a good tournament at all yet. The Portugal v Spain game was a belter obviously and I thought Peru v Denmark and the Argentina game v Iceland were passable, but beyond that there has been nothing to set the tournament alight yet. Nigerias version of possession play was very reminiscent of the shite you see in the Scottish Championship. Defenders passing the ball around with no intention or plan to do anything with it at all, the opposition not pressing, and when the defenders finally get bored with it, they lump it 60 yards forward, usually straight into touch.

8 games played, the games you mentioned, were more than reasonable.

The Russia game was decent, admittedly Saudi were poor.

France showed enough to suggest they could go a long way.

The Argentinian goal was also a cracker, although I didn't see the game.

Focusing on tonight's game is a pish poor game to highlight.

21 goals in 8 games, if you expected anything else you're in dreamland, world cup is always a mixture of good, bad and indifferent.

Was a save. Goalie touched it onto the bar. Mexico passing is amazing. I think Germany have been stunned by how good Mexico are. Very evenly balanced game. Hope Mexico can go on with it. Always pumping the underdog. StMirren/Paisley trait.

Great save, all because he set himself up in a decent position, unlike the Spanish goalie against Portugal who left that side of the goal, not taking anything away from the strike by Ronaldo, wide open.

The pundits seem to be focusing only on the chances Mexico have created in the first half.

It could easily be 3-3 with the chances both teams have had.
