St.Ricky 5,176 Report post Posted May 21, 2018 (edited) I think Isle of Bute Saint intended to put the link in his post. Here it is. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/jack-ross-holds-talks-sunderland-12569224 If true then from his point of view and maybe Saints too, this would be best done sooner rather than later. Must be in Skegness - easy enough to get up or down the English East coast from there. ironsaints87 109 Report post Posted May 21, 2018 No mention of Chelsea yet? All a game on Jacks part, he’s holding out for Chelsea job but having to wait till Abramovich visa is sorted, however if he feels Chelsea not for him he might consider Everton or West Ham if he feels their worthy of his greatness 3 StuD, St.Ricky and boomboomyards reacted to this

Unlike the other three Arsenal have been known to actually try to play football. 1 St.Ricky reacted to this
lenziebud 474 Report post Posted May 21, 2018 Funny, I was wondering why Sunderland weren't in the mix for Jack Ross. Perfect time to take over manager role at Sunderland, new owners, new investment, big club at rock bottom, only way is UP. Better job than Ipswich if he got it right. Never for a minute thought Jack Ross would be at St Mirren next season and he's spot on to go to if he gets the right option. 1 St.Ricky reacted to this
Ethan 562 Report post Posted May 21, 2018 Sunderland is a team to take you places.if he gets this right he would rocket his own value. I just want an end to this circus now. We need to be selfish and move this on so we can take care of our own business. 1 St.Ricky reacted to this

You are not the only one who thinks this - but take a look at the last 6 or 7 managers who no doubt thought the same - the big question is - "have they hit rock bottom yet" - none of us knows that yet... Jack going to the Sunderland interviews is all part of him learning at these and trying to up his ante for the Ipswich job or any others, I suspect - Sunderland is high risk and could be a very short gig if things don't go exactly in the right direction very quickly... Jack has done wonders for us - but I don't think he has sufficient knowledge of players or contacts in England... He would have to bring in someone who did - and that is a big risk too! TPAFKATS 5,999 Report post Posted May 21, 2018 Sunderland are debt free now and likely favs for promotion. If they are favourites that just adds all the more pressure on the manager - If Jack was Ipswich manager and they finished 1 place higher in his 1st season, it would be progress... but at Sunderland finishing 3rd or 4th might be seen as underperforming... Yeah Jack back to us when you are not offered either of these jobs... and get a squad signed up ASAP... 1 St.Ricky reacted to this
StanleySaint 496 Report post Posted May 21, 2018 Sunderland as a club are a complete basket case, the new manager has a mammoth task just to stabilise the club, when he is sacked would be the time to take the job not now.

Disagree. Think just now is a great time to take the top job at Sunderland. new owners, some of the deadwood cleared from the playing staff and some exciting youngsters coming through. Could really build some momentum. 3 lenziebud, TPAFKATS and St.Ricky reacted to this

Dibbles old paperboy 4,381 Report post Posted May 21, 2018 Chairman has said they might offer Chris Coleman his old job back and the previous chairman sacked him in one of his last acts at the club without the consent of the new owners! Tough choice for Sunderland,do they go with Coleman again who has managed in the EPL, Spain and taken Wales to Euro 16 knock out stages and their highest ever world ranking or plump for Jack on the basis of starting 2016/7 well with Alloa in Scottish League 1, jumping to St Mirren within a season of being appointed Alloa manager, keeping St Mirren up on goal difference in 2016/7, winning the Championship in 2017/8 after talking to 2 other bigger clubs during the season and talking to at least 2 other clubs before a ball has been kicked in the top league? Maybe if Ross starts the season well at Sunderland (lol) the chairman will have sleepless nights if Derby or Nottingham Forest are looking for a new manager in the Championship midway through the season! 1 St.Ricky reacted to this
