This of course is the model that Motherwell have completely built themselves on in recent years and it's paid off pretty well, with decent finishes in the league, decent money through transfers and last season 2 cup finals to boot. There's an argument that says it would be a potentially safe route to follow and Mellon has done pretty well in his career managing in those lower leagues. I watched his Shrewsbury team a few times and they were a good side, if perhaps not exactly free flowing. That all said, I'm never really one for playing it safe. Let's roll the dice and get Guti or Kluivert in and have a go. We might do extremely well, we might bomb. It will be fun and exciting anyway, who doesn't want that! We simply cannot have Micky Mellon Mirren Manager. C’mon tae’ fcuk in the name of all that’s good.

pozbaird
Surely we would have a better new songbook with Guti.... There’s only one, Gutierrez, Only one, Guitierrez, He’s Spanish and good, Shops in Asda Linwood, We’re walking in a Guti wonderland. Erm, perhaps not. RossCSmfc
Micky Mellon's assistant is called Michael Jackson - surely this is some sort of windup? Micky Mellon Mirren manager goes with McGinn & Magennis in midfield.

foxbar_bud
Kulivert is an interesting one. Obviously a top player which doesn’t stand for much but has been coach or assistant manager at a number of decent clubs as well as director of football at PSG.On paper he should be getting a job at a far higher level than us considering guys like Lampard and Gerrard are walking into decent sized jobs. Yep, without the Sevvies all of us would be devastated and we'd all give up supporting our Scottish sides because there would just be no point. I know bigot fans are deluded anyway but ever since their big club died the Sevco fans have come out with some of the biggest nonsense I've ever seen (and we have Boris Johnson in government ffs). StuD
Remember when Tony Fitzpatrick was manager and St Mirren were linked with all the big names. I found this post from the past which might serve to remind people what it was like On 12/28/2003 at 10:40 PM, TsuMirren said: Aswell as Blokhin, we were also after Yevtushenko and Demianenko...if memory serves me right. There was a whole load of hoo ha about Robert Fleck at one stage. We offered Brian Reid the same deal as Rangers, if stories I heard were true. Wasn't the McInally deal scuppered because we played Aston Villa in a friendly and the Villa weren't too impressed with us either getting one of them sent off or one of us getting sent off. There was a whole load of stories about that deal falling through. I remember when we signed Torfason...Record ran a story about an un-named blonde Scandinavian hitman from Rapid Vienna and I, along with all my mates, thought "F'N HELL Jan Aage Fjortoft!!!" Fitzy was class though, he flew over a Belgian called Rudi Taeymans and then he went home after about a day saying he was homesick. He had half the Austrian World Cup team on trial, told the Polish captain he wasn't good enough, brought over a whole load of Germans and then signed Roddy Manley and Tom Black. I fully expect this whole sorry affair to end with St Mirren appointing Allan McManus or Jamie Langfield as manager Edited June 5, 2018 by StuD
zico
Deflection from another question. You afraid of answering anything truthfully? [emoji23] I can provide a link to the post where you reported it as gay porn if you wish. [emoji106] Show me one, just one false allegation I've made against you. No doubt you'll make up a excuse for not doing so, you're that predictable. I've just realised you've made a false allegation against myself. Ask your solicitor next time how much that could cost you. [emoji23] What was that nickname you had baby..... something or was it something .......killer? On the same day he's accused me of being homophobic and a killer of babies too. All this from a weirdo who wanted to bring a camera to a juvenile football match. He's not the kind of person I'd want representing my organisation but I guess some are a hell of a lot less fussy.
